Hasbro's Power Rangers era and General Tokusatsu discussion

Oh, I see. The driver/mouth is under his clothes and he unzips a flap on the front to expose his belly. That's certainly a novel approach, and more than a little creepy.

Looks like we've got another angry, vengeful secondary Rider determined to destroy the bad guys. That's rather conventional.

It's about that time. The current Super Sentai(BoonBoomger is nearing it's 25th episode) and rumors are coming out about the 2025 sentai

Apparently from reliable sources

Red's animal motif is a wolf or mythological canine

Green returns to the lineup. Not sure if it will be a female or male

There's a unicorn and T-Rex in the core lineup.

Lion may be pink

Unicorn may be black

Rings might be the collectible like Kamen Rider Wizard

The deluxe role play weapons like the ranger's personal sword can be attached to them in human size and also attached to the core mecha like arm attachments

We've still got ten weeks to go(Around episode 35 of BoonBoomger) before the trademark is registered. It could be a few weeks more before it's officially patented and revealed.

The reason why Kamen Rider Gavv is candy themed

If twitter link doesn't work

On one hand, it's appealing to kids. On the other hand, although Masked Rider Gotchard's belt didn't sell as well as expected, the collectible cards did very well. The reason for this is that card sales are not limited to places that sell toys. The more places and opportunities for children to be exposed to, the easier it will be for them to attracts children So Gavv continues this strategy

Also just throwing this out there. Could be nothing but interesting if true

A netizen on 5ch who claimed to be an industry insider revealed some details of Gavv’s design. Gavv's design was completed as early as the end of 2018. It was designed as an alternative to 01. From 2018 to last year, Gavv's design has was submitted as an alternative plan every year, but was not adopted. It was not until last year that it was officially selected as this year's new show.

When was the last time Sentai did "Mystical Animals/Creatures"?

Depends on how you define it, I guess. Donbrothers was based on the Momotarou legend, and it had mostly animal-based members. Kyuranger was based on constellations, many of which represented real or mythical animals.

Aside from that, although there have been multiple earlier animal-themed teams, the only one I can think of that was specifically based on mythological creatures was Dairanger.

(Edit: Oops, I said "Momotaros" when I meant Momotarou.)

That's a large time gap between Dairanger and KyuuRanger

What's the current state of Power Rangers? what is announced, planned and in development?

There was some change of ownership rights and a reboot of sorts with new tv series, movies and more were said to be be the plan.

So early word on the street is that the title for the 49th Sentai is

Inochi Sentai Gozyuger

Trademark has not been patented yet.

Sounds like it means "Life Sentai Five Beast-ger." Maybe another animal/nature-themed team. Our first "Go-" team title in 13 seasons, after the triple of Goseiger/Gokaiger/Go-Busters. The third overall with zyu in the team name, after Zyuranger and Zyuohger.

ToQ Ichigo is a part of the Lap 3/ third arc of Boonboomger. They’ve been on the third arc for a month.

-New general
-Power Up which is a team member jacket that when the boonboomger press on the logos they can person 10 different attacks

-New mecha which is semi truck that gives Boonboomger robo to combine with

-Arc centered on Genbas past

wasn't aware of Hasbro $elling all Power Ranger goods...
Hope fans, cast and acting talent can get some of the things and not just resellers and investors.

Are there any rumors on the "reboot" project/ (TV/Streaming, Movies, Games) ?

Based on the trailer it has a very close tone to Super Sentai and Kamen Rider. The personalities of the characters and the usual filming locations don't really differentiate it. How is that warehouse still standing after 40 years after all those explosions have been set off in it?

At least they didn't do a 180 and make this a grim gory interpretation( like how almost every big budget Kamen Rider movies has to do)

I'd almost expect a gochizo(the minions in Kamen Rider Gavv) to just hop into a scene or BoonRed to speed on by.

Still. It makes me think of this as almost as an alternative Kamen Rider series if we didn't get Gavv.

Yeah, I was able to follow the majority of the dialogue without subtitles because it's mostly a lot of standard stuff like "I'm a hero of justice" or "Hurry up and transform," that sort of thing.

The reason filmmakers favor those bright orange fireball explosions is because they're relatively low-energy, meaning both that they're relatively safe and that the reaction proceeds slowly enough to be visually impressive. They're barely any more dangerous than a fireball from a backyard propane grill. They don't do any real damage to their surroundings, which is why stunt performers can stand fairly close to them and pretend to be blasted away by imaginary shock waves.

And adult-oriented TV reboots. I've been slowly working my way through Kamen Rider Black Sun, and it's weird how both of Amazon Prime's mature KR reboots (Kamen Rider Amazons being the first, of course) involve kaijin eating human flesh as a plot point.
