This is a stupid and random question. But I was wondering if anyone on this forum has ever said

"Be quiet. I out-rank you and I am ordering you to shut the hell up."

I think I would have a nice laugh if I saw that.

Well, technically, the mods and admins have to do that because it's their job, and they can ban you if you don't listen.

Actually, when I first started posting here, someone said my opinion didn't count because I was a newbie. Others rushed to my defense, so it evened out. People realize that people like that are pretty big dicks.

I have to say, this forum is relatively friendly to newbies, as long as they post intelligently and don't come out of the gate with guns blazing.

I don't know that I've ever seen someone respond to a new poster here with something like, "GTFO n00b."

I do recall--many years ago--a captain or a commodore doing that to a cadet who had just joined these boards and I don't think I've ever seen such a case of someone with zero authority before in my life.

Having a high rank really just means either you've been here too long or you spend way too much time here. I'm guilty of both...
