Halloween Costume Thread!

That Star Trek costume is really super, FS. I think the hard work on the details really makes the overall look. Excellent.

^ I was planning to get us back on topic... I was just waiting for the paint to dry. :bolian:

Since the powers-that-be didn't feel it necessary to put out the delta pin before Halloween ( ) I had to make my own. There was no way I was putting all this work into a costume just to go around with that screen-printed number on my uniform top. So I got some sheet styrene and hacked together my own. It turned out alright. I am not happy with the edges but the darn thing is so small it was hard to get them crisp. Next time I do one of these I am sculpting it from clay (to get the cleanest edges), running a mold and casting it in resin. It would have been easier and faster with a much better result.

This is the piece before it was painted.

This is the finished product. The flash has blown out the brushed metal finish I gave it but trust me it is there. (Shiny objects are bitch to photograph with a flash but I didn't want to drag out all the equipment to do it right.)

Now I have to finish the uniform shirt and I will be done. Yeah!

I love the costume on the whole, but your work on the badge is particularly cool. Great job!

^ :rommie::rommie::rommie: Oh Flukie, you are most excellent my friend.

(Next time I will try to restrain myself from intentionally doing a silly pose just in case I am immortalized again in a Flukie original.)

This years is pretty cool, but the Sailor Jupiter one... AWESOME! :D

And AS great costume. The fat is why I won't even attempt the new uniform

Great costumes everyone! :bolian:

Your bulging crotch frightens me more than the mask. Is that where you carry your Halloween candy?

Joe, not trading with you

Hey, I'm just giving the public what it wants. ;)

Actually, I tend to wear layers underneath the costume (well, as many layers as one can wear in a bodysuit) as it sometimes gets rather cold late at night (I'm working an outdoor maze). So the bulge is probably just my underwear bunching up. Sorry to disappoint anyone. :p

Anyway, if you think this is bad, you should see the costume I wore when I performed The Rocky Horror Picture Show...

So I've been working with a friend on making a light-up disco stick for another friend's Lady Gaga costume, and I've just been sent the pics of the finished product!

I wasn't planning to dress up, but yesterday at the school I was working at, I saw so many different costumes (Someone dressed up as Billy Mays which I found hilirious, and I was thinking, how many would recognize either the 9th or 10th Doctor or Captain Jack. Might be fun having a trench coat and just that whole cool look.

Very spiffy Sylar! Well done also USSGlenn. Here is a photoshopped Halloween photo from 2005 before I parted with my TOS uniform.

I totally agree. LOVE the Sailor Jupiter costume! That's very unique. I wished I could come up with something like that. :D

Fantastic outfit, AS. I knew something great was going to be the result when you started your project, and that's exactly what you made. Great attention to detail, and the outfit looks badass. :D

J.

^ Why thank you sir! I had fun making it... and I LOVE my boots. I have been wearing them everywhere.

Be round to pick you up at 9pm. :D

Damn. I wish I had been in your neck of the woods tonight. I would have taken you up on that because my night ended up being a bust. My date had to cancel because his grandmother was sick. :( I hope she will be ok... but I really wanted to go out.

^^^^^
I guess it's not as big a deal across the pond as it is in North America, huh?

Anyway, I've been working at a local amusement park (Canada's Wonderland), and they have an annual "Halloween Haunt" event, which features about 10 mazes populated with people dressed up as monsters. I'm playing one of those monsters this year, and here is my costume:

My friends and I went there last weekend. Which one were you in?

My nephews apparently had ST XI-inspired costumes, but I never got to see them, 'cuz they didn't wear them to my parents' house for our Husker game viewing! :( I only heard about it later...
