    So I've been told.

Many, many years ago, my girlfriend (back when I dated girls :p ) tried to teach me. We "made" a blanket for my car. All I had to do was sew the satin binding (I think that's what it was called) along the top and bottom edges of a big piece of fleece.

The result was not pretty. :(

If I'd been driving a car, instead of a sewing machine, I would have been pulled over for DUI, what with the weaving and speeding up and slowing down.

I was scarred for life.

But, 20 years later ..., I just might be able to give it another try without having immobilizing flashbacks.

Oh, the horror! The horror! :p

I'll probably wear the same costume I wore last year to any parties that I go to...I was a priest. When I wear it this year, I'll probably fasten the collar to the robe, and cinch it up a bit so it fits better.

I've had NO luck whatsoever with finding a spiderman costume

So this week I'm probably going to go grab the stuff to do Phantom makeup, and go get the costume. It's gonna look really good if I can pull it off how I want to. I'll see about posting pictures before halloween, I'm going to a halloween dance on the 29th so I should have pics then.

That was from a few years ago. Aside from the crappy haircut and my lack of sexy abs, I thought I looked pretty damn good!

I started the night dressed up in normal clothes with the Spiderman PJs underneath. At some random point I managed to get one of my friends to attack another one, so I ripped off my clothes to reveal the Spiderman costume, and I saved the day.

Then later, when I got drunk, I went into my room and changed into the Venom toddler pajamas (they came in a 2-pack!). It was a 3-part costume, and it was fucking hilarious.

And the best part was I bought it no sooner than 1 hour before our Halloween party.

What you can't see in this picture are the toddler pajama pants...

    ^ STOP.... TAUNTING US..... DAMMIT!

I haven't had a decent date in a month so I can't control what comes out of my filthy mouth right now. And you are making it very difficult not to say bad things. :(

Am I the only one who sees the obvious solution to these two gentlemen's mutual problem?

    Just sayin' .... :p

And for the record, I was just teasing about the PJs. ;)

^ Hold on now. My BBS husband, AdAstra, would not approve my cheating on him. I don't think RoJo would appreciate it either.

    Sooooo....to drift back on-topic.

I finished spray painting the bullet hits for my T-1000 costume today. They turned out well and I'll post a pic when the paint is fully dry.

I have also succeeded in convincing one of my attractive female friends to dress up as Lady Gaga for Halloween. I'll be working with another friend to build her a light-up disco stick to complete the costume.

^ I was planning to get us back on topic... I was just waiting for the paint to dry. :bolian:

Since the powers-that-be didn't feel it necessary to put out the delta pin before Halloween ( ) I had to make my own. There was no way I was putting all this work into a costume just to go around with that screen-printed number on my uniform top. So I got some sheet styrene and hacked together my own. It turned out alright. I am not happy with the edges but the darn thing is so small it was hard to get them crisp. Next time I do one of these I am sculpting it from clay (to get the cleanest edges), running a mold and casting it in resin. It would have been easier and faster with a much better result.

This is the piece before it was painted.

This is the finished product. The flash has blown out the brushed metal finish I gave it but trust me it is there. (Shiny objects are bitch to photograph with a flash but I didn't want to drag out all the equipment to do it right.)

Now I have to finish the uniform shirt and I will be done. Yeah!

Here's a quick-and-dirty image of the bullet hits laying on top of the uniform shirt that I bought. The positioning isn't final. I was thinking of using a hot glue gun to attach them to the shirt; I want to be able to remove the hits and re-use the shirt after Halloween.

My bullet hits are a bit too round and not quite smooth enough to be a perfect match to those used in T2, but I think these turned out well for a half-assed papier mache job. ;)

Looks great! If you want to use the shirt again I would suggest attaching them with safety pins or a few whip stitches rather than hot glue. The glue will seep into the fibers and you will never get it out thus ruining the shirt. :bolian:

Good point. I'm just concerned that the papier mache will not hold up to having a needle driven through it too well. The aluminum foil backing is still on the reverse of the larger hits, but it's not firmly attached and so can't be used for attachment.

I'd suggest backing them with fabric, and attaching them to the shirt with temporary fabric adhesive like this one.

I've used it for a few costumes, and any residue it leaves comes out with the wash. Also has pretty good hold.

    The costume looks good! :bolian:
