How many do the "pony tail" thing with the baseball cap and the adjusting strap in the back?

I'm amused every time I see that. (Almost as bad as those black high heel boots that make hoof noises with every step.)

Yes, some products have more peroxide than bleach, thus the 'orange' shade. The more expensive the product, the more bleach is in the package. Loreal has one that has more bleach.

So like hours? I can dig it. I'm cool with the pain, it's worth it for the funny colors.

I tossed the hair dryer in one of the "declutter before we move" frenzies in the past couple of years, but I almost never used it because I hated what it did to my hair when I used it. I used to dye my hair once every 4-6 months but gave it up. It was too much work, and I refused to pay someone else to do it for me.

So, I'm a wash-and-air-dry gal. No hairspray or styling product unless I have a hot date somewhere besides the couch, and I can't tell you the last time I had a "go-out" date. My hair is fine and thin, so I wash then condition the ends every other day, and it's dry within 30 minutes. If I washed it every day, I'd have kindling on my head. I haven't had it cut since before my last birthday. I bobbed it, and now it's just past my shoulders. It's long enough that I'll clip it back if I need it out of the way, but most of the time I don't bother. I mean, it's hair, right? I have a bit of a shampoo collection, though. My hair is fickle, so I rarely use the same brand from one bottle to the next. But it's cool. Being non-brand loyal means I get my shampoo and condition for free or nearly free.

Since I have very thick and naturally curly hair my big enemy is frizz. So, no blow dryers, curling irons or flat irons for me. I get a good cut every six weeks and when I wash my hair I let it air dry. C'est tout.

If you cut your hair that often, bleaching it once will only last two haircuts anyway. Use a Loreal bleaching product...they tend to go the less 'orange' shades

I'd agree with that. I used to recolour my hair almost every week with only one bad experience...

I had a show on Saturday and a job interview on Friday. So I bleached Thursday night (foolishly over black) and woke up with orange hair. In panic I picked up red dye and ended up interviewing for the Royal Bank of Scotland with bright pink hair.

They were not impressed. But it looked fantastic.

I am very low maintenance. I have so little hair that there's no point in trying to do anything with it--just keep it short.

I would actually shave my head, but for some unknown reason, I have developed a stubborn case of scalp acne since the start of the year.

Now, my beard is another story. I have a fine, full beard, and as an academic, I feel free to let it grow to luxuriant, Victorian lengths. A student passing me in the hallway the other day actually said: "That's a bad-ass beard, man!"

But I've recently taken to shaving my upper lip. It's more hygienic, and it makes me look less ferocious.

I have the same type of hair and I find without a blow dryer it is frizzy and has less body. I don't find air-drying works that well, on me at least.

I get mine cut every three months at a really good salon. It's taken me a long time (years) to find a decent stylist again after I lost track of my previous one.

I don't wash my hair that often - with thick hair you can get away with that. Half the time I use good products from a hair care store and half the time I use drug store stuff. I still haven't made up my mind that the pricey stuff is better. When times were less economically tough I was using Aveda products. Talk about $$$.

There was a discussion on the radio the other day about how long you wait before washing your hair. It's really varied for different individuals. For a couple of people it was a week, some every couple of days, and for most of the guys it was every day. They said the shorter hair got greasy much faster so they had to do it often.

I wash it every three or four days. Any longer and it gets too stringy. Any less and it gets all dry and frizzy. It took me a long time to figure this out since in high school everyone is so obsessed with hygiene that if you didn't wash your hair every day you must be "icky." But luckily I found out that that's BS and started washing less. My hair went from being totally poofy and uncontrollably frizzy to being smooth and shiny.

When I have tried blow drying in the past it made my hair huge and really frizzy, it was bad. But even if it didn't do that I wouldn't blow dry it because I don't have the time or motivation.

The only two "issues" I've had with my hair is that it tangles extremely easily and it has an annoying waviness to it. Sometimes the waviness looks fine, even good. But often it just looks weird, like when you have your hair in a pony tail for an extended period of time and then let it down and you have that weird bumpy wave across your hair. So I used to straighten it every so often, but only on special occasions really. Now I haven't done it in a couple of years I think.

I don't believe in colouring your hair and it's amusing that my red hair is now turning to blonde as I age.

Whereas as I've got older my hair has become less blonde and got more red.

Actually, to be semi serious for once, I have what hair on my head I have left trimmed relatively short every two or three weeks and shampoo daily. The goatee and mustache stay trimmed close. Some friends have suggested I shave my head, but I'm too low maintenance to bother.

I did that when my hair was long. It was good in the summer- it kept my hair and the sun out of my eyes!

My hair is sort of medium-maintenance. I wash it using mild shampoo, condition it, and wrap it in a towel while I'm doing my make-up. That keeps me from having to use the dryer for very long. It's also naturally wavy, so I usually don't have to curl it (unless I'm making myself up for a special occasion).

My hair is almost long enough for me to wear in ponytails and French braids again. By summer it will be!

I get it trimmed every six weeks, and every six months or so I cut a little extra off. I have very healthy hair, and my hairdresser comments about it every time I go in!

I'm going to have to start coloring soon. I'm getting more gray and white hairs. Used to be one or two at a time (which I'd pluck), now it's more like five.

I use this and this. They seem to work very well with my hair.

This is my favorite shampoo.

It has witch hazel. It smells so good, and leaves my hair soft and shiny. They don't have a matching conditioner, though, so I use a generic brand with a neutral scent.
