Guinan in First Contact

Aren't we missing a rather obvious stumbling block here? If the scene featured Picard and Guinan, shouldn't it go more or less like

Picard: "In my century we don't succumb to revenge. We have a more evolved sensibility."
Guinan: "Bullshit! I saw the look on your face when you shot those Borg on the holodeck. You were almost enjoying it!"
Picard: "How dare you!"
Guinan (winking): "Not nearly as much as I was, though. Those were some cool moves there, Jean-Luc. Now, if you just let me have one of those noisy antique guns of yours the next time around, we can have some serious fun together."
Picard: "Are you serious?"
Guinan: "You bet your life. Hmm. Actually, you more or less lost that bet already. What say you, wouldn't this be high time to send the entire crew on a suicide sally? We could lead that one, after you set the ship on self-destruct. Make sure that not one of those cybernetic bastards survives."
Picard: "Ye-es, sounds like a plan. Now-"
Crusher: "Captain? Are you sure? The crew-"
Picard&Guinan: "Shut up, Beverly!"
?

The movie needed a counterpoint to Picard, not a yes-woman who'd be behind his genocidal-suicidal ideas all the way!

I don't think Guinan would be so gung-ho about Picard's bloodlust. She was quite seriously affected by the experience in "I, Borg" and was the one who convinced Picard that maybe he should have second thoughts about his plan. But, then again, if we want to actually pay attention to the character development in the series, Picard wouldn't be acting the way he does in First Contact anyway, so it wouldn't matter.

It's one thing to use an "innocent" to destroy an entire species that isn't currently threatening you. It's quite another when said species is about **** your history up permanently. The stakes were far higher this time around and considering how much time Picard spends preaching about how much "better" humanity is in the 24th Century losing it would surely destroy him.

My son (10) and daughter (12) pointed out that the woman who helped Archer in the season four two part opener of ENT with the Space Nazis was almost a direct steal of Lily from First Contact and not just because she's also played by an African American actress.

Of course, my son also pointed out that the same eps were sort of retelling "City on The Edge of Forever" not as well, but on the whole, I enjoyed ENT. Sorry for the mini-hijack.
