Why is SGU coming to DVD so quickly? Most shows take a fair bit longer to make it to DVD, unless they're called Law & Order: SVU...
SVU has been released so quickly because the series is more popular and the DVDs sell better than the original L&O (or CI).
But, seriously, imagine if Babylon 5 released split-season sets. How many people would skip season five, volume one, just to avoid Byron?
I saw Syfy advertising the next episode as the "season finale", which was news to me. However, it makes sense now that they're marketing the discs in this way. I have to admit, that is one long list of special features, and it's very tempting but no way in hell am I spending $50 on that. For that price I could buy 3 seasons of SGA at Wal-Mart right now! I'll wait for a price drop or a whole (true) season boxed set first.
Does anyone know why BSG had its second season DVD split in two?
