We saw that final credits scene very differently. I don't think Rocket's Guardians were there to exterminate the herd, just to keep them from destroying the village in their stampede. Yes, this may mean killing some of them, unfortunately. But as we don't actually see WHAT the Guardians were planning or doing, even that's a stretch. Yes, they are armed. Yes, they are dangerous. Doesn't mean they were killing indiscriminately or without cause.
It's a FAR cry from the kinds of animal testing and cruelty that the High Evolutionary represented.
Unless, when the stampede comes for your home, you're just going to move out and let them destroy it rather than try to save it?
I couldn't remember, so checked the synopsis on the MCU wiki, and it said that one of the others asked Rocket if he had a problem killing the creatures and he said he didn't. So it looks like their intent was to kill them all.
And there are plenty of ways to deal with a situation like that without just killing animals. I find it hard to believe that with all of the technology they have they wouldn't have something that could block, redirect, or scare them off.

Karen Gillian posted a "Week in the Life of Karen" video which heavily features (but not entirely) her working as Nebula on the Vol. 3 set. Apparently she got into some trouble for sneaking a tablet on set to do it but not so much trouble that she was able to share this footage well after the film's release.
There isn't anything too revelatory but it is a fun video to watch, especially if you're a fan of Karen and/or Nebula like I am. Plus, she's such a delightful and silly human being.
I know they were just improvising, but I love the revelation that Kraglin has been married 14 times and he thinks his and Nebula's couple name should either be Kragula or Nublin.
This is the kind of behind-the-scenes videos I love to watch for films and shows and I really, really wish more productions would release them, either on YouTube or as extras for streaming services.

I just streamed V3 and it was good. Better than 2 notba good as 1. I found some/all off the creature/anamorphic animal costumes cheap looking and really the soundtrack hasn't been good since the first one and at times this was too visually dark.

Well we all saw the ending of GOTG Vol with "Starlord will return". James Gunn would like to do a solo movie with Starlord possibly adapting to earth

What a great movie. Apparently they can make good Marvel movies still. Somebody let everyone not named James Gunn know.
I look forward to seeing this in August when my 4k disc arrives.

Finally watched the Assembled episode. I had been holding off until I could find the time to rewatch the film and then Assembled (originally planned for the same night but had to compromise with two consecutive nights). Man, I still love this film so damn much. Such a perfect conclusion to all of these characters. We might see some of them again in the future, but this iteration of the Guardians is complete and I cannot be happier with what we got.
The Assembled episode had some interesting tidbits. It's always fun seeing the behind-the-scenes work, particularly everything Sean Gunn did as Rocket. I don't think he gets nearly enough appreciation for what he brings to the role when most people just think of Bradley Cooper and maybe the SFX team. It was also cool to see that he wasn't the only one going all out in motion capture as we saw both Maria Bakalova and Linda Cardellini completely decked out in the motion capture suits. Just a shame we didn't get any interview bits from either of them.
I may have heard about this before (and it may have even been mentioned in this very thread) but I love knowing that this film broke the record for the most make-up on a single set (beating out The Grinch Who Stole Christmas of all things). I also love that Gunn created entire damn language (or at least a basic grammar foundation) for the vampire bat family that appeared for all of five minutes or so.
But above all else, and I know I say this with every damn Assembled episode, it's such a damn joy watching all of these actors and set, make-up, costume, and special effects creators and the stunt coordinators and stunt folk and James Gunn just having the time of their lives creating this wonderfully ridiculous, emotional, beautiful, and fun film.
