Looking forward to seeing them all. It seems that GotG is becoming the glue that holds the MCU together.
What interests me most about the Twitter-sphere rundowns for the film is that everyone seems to have a different thing that made the film for them... some loved Baby Groot the most, some loved Yondu, some went for Drax and Mantis stealing the show, some loved how funny it was, some loved how much emotional depth it had... A good film works because it offers multiple ideas/characters that attract different people for different reasons. Seems to be the case here, though admittedly it's a very small data set. Hugo - is never excited, but certainly keenly waiting
Each character does have something new about them and it's going to be fun seeing how they've all moved on from their individual stories from the first film as well as everything new. I'm pretty sure it's going to balance the humour with emotional depth the same way the first one did too. I mean, Gamora is probably going to be the one to help Peter with his father issues, after what she had to deal with with Thanos. That's not going to be a light subject for either of them, both being the children of elder beings.
Thematically, not out of necessity. Large scale, globe or galaxy spanning, somewhat lighthearted character-centric romps seems to be the structure of this batch of MCU films. That's a blueprint that GotG created.
The premiere for "Guardians of the Galaxy - Vol. 2" is going on at the Dolby Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, right now.
It's out in other territories (including here) next week and not in two weeks like America - which is normal for the MCU films.
Yep. Here in Australia it's opening to tomorrow. I think Australians will be amongst the first in the world to see it. I'm seeing sometime later in the week.
Rewiews are up guys. It looks entertaining, although not better than the original one (which was more or less what I expected). Indiewire posted an article about the 5 post-credits scenes. Apparently, they are all related to Guardians 2 itself and some tease Guardians 3, but nothing else.
That's a bit surprising, I was expecting at least one of them to hint at the Guardians role in Infinity War.
