Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Exactly.

Even after the ones for Guardians 2, I still have very little what the film is about for the most part and yet all the trailers make me want to see it EVEN more...That's how you do trailers!

Exactly! I don't really want to know what the plot is about in advance. I just want to get psyched for the movie. I like that Yondu and Nebula are back, and I'm curious about Mantis, and that's enough to keep me interested.

I don't like that all we've seen of Mantis is goofy business. Is she even going to be a martial artist in this?

I'm so thrilled Nebula appears to have a bigger, more inclusive role in this one. I don't really care so much about the character as I do Karen Gillian. :D

I'm sure she will get her share of violence, but as a new character in an already sizable cast she is going to take a backseat in the promotional material.

DC TV veteran Michael Rosenbaum (The Flash on Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, Lex Luthor on Smallville) has been cast in the movie, in a "pretty decent role". Don't know who yet, though we do know that his character will be associated with Sylvester Stallone's character.

I was shocked when I went shopping at Sam's Club yesterday, and they already had the GOTGV2 Junior Novelization out on the shelves. I was tempted to get it, but I don't usually read the Junior novelizations. If it was an adult version, I'd probably be halfway through it by now.
I don't actually have a problem with these kind of books, I just wasn't sure since this was a kids novel of a PG-13 movie if they'd be cutting out the PG-13 stuff.

Awesome! I think this will be the first MCU series to actually have the same director for three movies.
Thor: 3 movies, 3 directors
Avengers: 4 movies, 3 directors (2 are a team)
Cap: 3 movies, 3 directors (2 are a team)
Iron Man: 3/2
Hulk: 1/1
Ant-Man: 2/1
Guardians: 3/1
Dr. Strange: 1/1
Spider-Man: 1/1
Black Panther: 1/1
Capt. Marvel: 1/?

Sweet! Jon Favreau bailed after two Iron Man movies and Joss Whedon after two Avengers movies, but we will be getting a bonafide Guardians trilogy out of James Gunn!

Well, of those three he's certainly the one who should have left, so of course he stayed :sigh: I can't wait until GotG 3 where Baby Groot get revealed as the Supreme Intelligence of the Kree, right before its revealed that Drax's mother is a bald woman named Moondragon, Rocket Raccoon changes his name to Richard Rider and becomes a member of the Nova Corps and Gamora's biological father is revealed to be a Celestial named Mar-Vell.

At least The Avengers got a very good director team as Whedon's replacement. GotG gets to keep the guy who basically makes his movies by playing madLibs with Marvel's cosmic characters and adding terrible memes he made up himself.

Glad to hear it. Hell, I still wish Bryan Singer had stuck around to direct the third X-Men movie in the original trilogy. (And I'll bet he does, too.)

Yeah, we all do.... though I had VERY high hopes with Superman....so at the time, it sure seemed logical.

I can't want to see vol. 2.... I am hopeful that it will be good, such that I will look forward to vol. 3

Do you like anything in this world.

I like a huge amount of things that would take hours and hours to list. GotG 1 would even be on that list. James Gunn, as a "creative" force, would not. The biggest mystery of the MCU for me will always be how he managed to make a single good movie. The fact that he may make the first outright bad MCU film, mostly because he gives no shits about the source material or characters, obviously ticks me off.

So Stallone's character has been revealed:

Starhawk

Well, Gunn found one of the few characters I think is impossible to ruin, because they already sucked to begin with.

All of the "Guardians 3000" are terrible, but at the very least it means Stallone will take some screen time away from Dancing Baby Shithead, so that's something.

The article basically says that one is important, the other is Gunn's normal stupid junk (so, more terrible memes that he can base the third movie off of, and one normal post credit scene). At this rate, Gunn is really in the running for my most hated director ever, although beating Zach Snyder might be too much even for him (since even Gunn was able to make one good movie, although if Justice League is good then Snyder might just get dethroned).
