Well, to be fair, we've all seen the movie months ago. it's not our fault you have arrived to the party late, when perhaps we stopped going SQUEE and moved on to something else.

Had I arrived at the same time as the rest of you, I'd have come to the same conclusion.

What's interesting, though, is the fact that once the "squeeing" had stopped, the thing you moved on to was bitching at each other about White Guilt and ethnic minorities.

That's right, that's exactly what is. A bitchfest. :roll eyes:

You're going to try and tell me that what I just read was a debate? I had to check I wasn't in TNZ a couple of times.

This very post is the 621st post in this thread, how many posts, percentage wise, have been "bitching" about "white guilt" and minorities?

Frankly I thought TBBS saw off Mister Fandango's most recent bout of rhetorical acid reflux with wit, grace and class. It'd be better if we'd been spared it in general, but otherwise I don't see anything to complain about.

I saw GOTG twice in the theatre and loved it both times. Everyone else I went with did to.

Just watched it again last night, and maybe it was my imagination but I noticed some slight differences from the theatre version.

- I don't remember the use of of the word asshole being "censored" to "a-hole".
- the dancing Groot scene seemed shorter to me. I remember in the theatre version Drax cleaning his knife and looking twice, but now he only does it once.

"A-hole" was used in the movie. It was a set up to a scene that got cut where Denarian Saal actually says, "Asshole." It's in the deleted scenes.

He only did it once when I saw it in the theatre.

But it's such a funny moment, perhaps your memory is tricking itself to get extra helpings. ;)

I'll have to ask how the others I went with remember it.

I distinctively remember it because they said a-hole in the trailer but in the movie they said asshole and I thought maybe it was only censored in the trailer?

Maybe they showed a different cut in Canada? Like when we didn't bleep out Alanis Morissette's f-bomb on the Grammy's but they did in the USA.

I remember A-Hole in the movie. I remember it distinctly because I had thought the scene was filmed only for the trailer after they talked about how it was unnatural for the actor to say (since A-Hole isn't really a British thing).

I watched the movie again last night. In both the screening at the theater when it was realeased and the Blu-Ray digital copy I watched last night, he says "What a bunch of a-holes."

I do seem to recall the Dancing Groot scene at the end being longer in the theatrical version, but I could be mistaken. On the Blu-Ray/digital copy, Drax only turns to look at Baby Groot once.

It's highly unlikely they made such superficial edits to the movie and then re-submitted it to the MPAA to get a rating for a new edit of the film. Even though these changes are minor, I believe any new cut of the film needs to be seen by the MPAA to get a rating that can be used on the packaging. So unless this is a "director's cut" the film should be exactly the same as the one we all saw in theaters.

Drax only ever looked around once. Go check out Youtube for clips that people filmed in the cinema if you really remember it differently. Or the clip Marvel put up on their official channel four months ago.

Dunno, The Avengers did it in certain markets.
If you're talking about the Phil-kill edit, that was in other countries. So nothing to do with the MPAA.

I can confirm that I saw Drax turn around twice in the theatre version. Second time round, he looked bewildered.. as if he thought he saw baby groot dancing. He might even have shrugged a little before turning back to wiping his knife.
