Taylirious

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Knowledge is power.

Season premiere was FRI the 24th.

"Thanks for the Memories"
Nick could lose status as a Grimm after the events occurred at Monroe & Rosalee's Wedding. Gedachtnis Esser (octopus) steals people's memories emerge in Portland

.

Good start. Trubel looks like she enjoys being the only Grimm. :)

^Wikipedia lists her as "recurring cast" for now. Personally I was hoping they'd drop Nick from the show altogether and let Trubel take over as the lead, but I doubt that's about to happen.

Honestly I'm not that fond of Trubel (and her name is ridiculous), but Nick became a real jerk last season, and he's just generally boring and unexpressive. What I really want is a show centered on Monroe, Rosalee, Juliette, and Wu.

This was a pretty good premiere. I wonder how long Nick'll be powerless? I'm assuming it probably won't be very long. I just hope once they do give him back his powers, they don't get ride of Trubel, I like her.

With Renard's mother around now Nick should be back to being a Grimm pretty soon. If she can reverse what Adalind did does that mean she and Nick have to sexr?

This one kind of fizzled out, didn't it? They touched on the challenging question of how you cope with the murder confession of a man whose murder weapon was a supernatural entity whose existence could not be proven for the purposes of the legal system, and then they just ignored the issue afterward. They didn't even have some kind of token payoff for the rabbi, they just completely forgot about it. It's lazy writing to set up an interesting question like that and then just abandon it in midstream.

And could the kid really see Wesen? Is he a Grimm? Or was the dad doing full Voge in front of him? Or was it just a child's imagination seeing his abusive father and uncle as monsters? That was left far too vague. And if the boy is a Grimm, that's another important idea that they set up and then totally dropped the ball on. Terribly sloppy writing.

^ Definitely full woge to intimidate them. The mom could see it too after all; the rabbi has no idea about wesen by contrast - still doesn't, even with the golem being proven. I liked that they name-dropped volcanalis and La Llorona.

I hope Trubel sticks around, I've grown to like Nick but she brings a really cool dynamic to the cast. I have no idea what's going on with Adalind and frankly don't care, though her scene was quite effectively disturbing, I'll grant.

I don't recall that being made clear.

My impression was that the mom occasionally saw the "monster," too, but was afraid to say anything for fear of having her sanity questioned. And maybe even doubted her own senses afterwards.

She couldn't believe she'd really seen what she thought she saw, and doubted that anybody would believe her anyway.

But given that Grimmage runs in families, couldn't the mother and child both have been Grimms without knowing it? That's the problem -- it seems likely that the guy was just going full Woge, but they never actually said so, which made it confusing.

I think that's why they kept stressing that the abusive stepdad was the kid's step-father, to explain why mom and the kid weren't Wesn.

For those wondering, the UK airdate for the premiere of season 4 has been announced as January 28th.

And they wonder why people torrent stuff...

Yeah, but my point is that both the mom and the kid could've been Grimms without knowing it. At least, I was initially wondering if that was where the story might be going, because it was unclear about the degree of Woge going on.

Grimms freak out wessen. Monroe described it last season as something about the eyes. A black pit reflecting back. If the mom or son were grimm, a rage filled wessen would have just killed them instead of waiting for them to find their power.
