Green Arrow (CW)

This will probably get a pilot order, but I was really hoping to see Deadman move forward out of development hell.

I've enjoyed stories I've seen with GA, so I'll be keeping an eye on this. My only real familiarity with the character comes from Smallville, and a couple of anmiated appearances, but I do plan on checking some of his comics when I go back to reading DC stuff.

And the 52 revamp seems to have turned him straight back into a poor man's Batman.

Really?! I actually had high hopes for that, with Dan Jurgens doing it. If that's the case, my disappointment in the New 52 is complete. Not that I had hopes of it being fantastic, but they pretty much screwed up completely.

making WW a daughter of Zeus?! Really? That's the kind of stuff you may do in an elseworld story - similar to how Mark Millar put his time-travel twist on Superman's origin in RED SON - , but they actually did it in the book that's supposed to be the new canon. And even if they tell us "Hey, it's a reboot", well, exactly. To the new readers, it won't mean anything.

Oh, well. At least The Flash turned out readable. For now.

Yep, he runs a massive multinational that rivals Wayne Enterprises and he runs around using lots of high-tech gadgets while his support team keep an eye on him from the arrow-cave (it's not actually called that but it might as well be).

Andrew Kreisberg was responsible for the second-worst run on Green Arrow after Judd Winnick, so I am not exactly excited.

OMG....IS THERE SOME FRAKING REASON THAT THEY CANNOT SIMPLY MAKE A NIGHTWING SERIES!

Nightwing would be the ideal character for the CW. He's rich, insanely good-looking, with a troubled background, a complicated family situation, bizarre love life and cool friends. He'd be perfect for that network. Hell a show based on the New Teen Titans...former sidekicks that have grown up...would work well. Yet they insist on warping other less suitable caracters for that network. Why?

There has to be some reason why that character gets no love outside of the comics and an occasional appearance in the animated shows. He never gets used.

Cool. It'll be interesting to see who they cast as Olly, and what kind of a supporting cast they bring in. Would Black Canary automatically be included with rights for GA, or would she be her own separate thing?

Why call it "Arrow"? Way to hide the show from casual viewers who might actually recognize a show called "Green Arrow" from the comic books and who don't frequent sites like this. Is it possible the CW is telegraphic the fact that a "Green Arrow" movie is in the works? Maybe. Or maybe the fact some feel Green Lantern bombed has made "Green" a no-no word? I don't get it.

I don't have high hopes. Not that I expect a show to be about an archer in tights running around the place, but Smallville's take was really disappointing. Oliver Queen, remember, is DC's version of Tony Stark, and if the show doesn't follow through, it's going to be pretty weak. I hope they include Black Canary because that's like doing Superman without Lois.

I'm doing a  though at them remaking Beauty and the Beast as a cop show (I'm sorry - "procedural"). Apparently it's not simply a new take on the fairy tale but an actual remake of the TV series from the 1980s. Can you say Grimm rip-off?

I believe there's one of each, a severe re-imagining of the overall product and a remake of the TV Series

WOr maybe the fact some feel Green Lantern bombed has made "Green" a no-no word? I don't get it.

Or maybe they just want to avoid confusion with Green Lantern and The Green Hornet . . . which is a real problem where general audiences are concerned. I can testify that my own next-door door neighbor couldn't keep Green Lantern, Green Hornet, and Green Arrow straight.

He actually rented a GREEN LANTERN cartoon thinking it was the Seth Rogan comedy version of THE GREEN HORNET . . . .

ABC might be doing a series based on the original fairy tale but there's been no pilot news about it...

:wtf:

I bet he mixes up green apples and green beans at the store, too.

No. Tony Stark is Marvel's version of Batman. Oliver Queen, who was created 22 years before Iron Man, is DC's knock-off of Batman.

Like Smallville did for 3.5 years when the show was surprisingly popular with viewers and fans? ;)

He actually rented a GREEN LANTERN cartoon thinking it was the Seth Rogan comedy version of THE GREEN HORNET . . . .

He likely did himself an accidental favor.
