Great Titles for Trek XII..?

Roald

What would you consider to be great titles for Trek XII..??

I think the following would be really good (some I've read on the Net, and I love them):

STAR TREK: THE RISE OF KHAN (This one is already floating around the Internet, and I LOVE it... Lucas didn't use 'Rise Of The Sith' as a possible prequel title, despite the fans' love for it (instead we got 'The Phantom Menace' and 'Attack of the Clones'..!), so it's still open for Trek.)

THE FINAL FRONTIER (I know Star Trek V also had this title, but like The Dark Knight being synonymous to Batman, I think TFF is synonymous to Star Trek, and it would be the first movie title without the words ST in it.)

Any (serious :klingon:) suggestions?

Please, not "The Rise of Khan." I think we've had enough "Rise of..." movies in the last few years.

That's true, but some titles just work so well... Rvenge Of The...' or 'Return Of The...' They sound so well, despite being overused perhaps.

Khan's been done. That they have to revive the TOS crew to tell new stories in Trek shows enough of a lack of originality; retreading Khan would be ridiculous. I suppose after that we'll have Kruge trying to get the Genesis device and so on...

That said, V'Ger is an inevitability, so that'll have to be dealt with. And by "have to" I mean "should have to (logically)". But then that's loads of years after whenever the new film's set. Considering also how Kirk manages to become a captain so much sooner.

But anyway, I dearly hope they don't redo Khan. TWOK is many times better than anything Bob and Alex could hope to write, and any new Khan story would feel cheap.

Yeah, I'm sick of "rise" too. Looking over IMDB, we've had "Hannibal Rising", "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines", "(Fantastic) 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer", "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans", "Van Wilder 2: The Rise of Taj", "The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior", and "Carlito's Way: Rise to Power".

Plus, there's "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" due out this summer, and "The Untouchables: Capone Rising" and "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" in the planning stages. I think we've had enough movies with "Rise" in the title to last us a lifetime. And if you're superstitious, notice how a lot of those are awful sequels (many of which are cheap, direct-to-DVD junk), which lends credence to the idea that a surefire way to curse a sequel is to put "Rise" in the title. :nyah:

Uhm... I'm starting to think 'The Rise Of...' is indeed a bad title, but only 'cause it's even more overused that I realized.

But how about: STAR TREK: THE DAWN OF KHAN..?

It should be called..

KHAN: From Hell's Heart

Even if they never reused that line it's a wonderful tribute to the original and sounds great! JJ, take a note.

(though really Khan could never be found in the new timeline, the Botany Bay could continue it's journey until all life supports failed.)

Enough Rise. Enough Khan. Were going to have to wait on the great title, we can't even agree on a good one.

You know I really thought I had had enough of Khan. Having read the eugenics novels I was well satiated on the Khan front.. but I watched Space Seed the other night and found myself thinking that I really don't mind seeing Khan again. In fact, I am rather keen on the idea now strangely enough.. like I got a taste of Khan and I want more.

JEFFREY COMBS SHOULD PLAY KHAN!

How about "Where no man has gone before" to avoid the confusion?
