As a big fan of Space:1999 as a kid, the theme for both seasons has always stuck in my head. That also included the ITC spinning logo with it's music too, it was quite jarring to me to learn as I got older that it wasn't actually part of the opening theme, just the ITC logo theme.
Best Music - Millennuim
Best Visual - Game of Thrones
Best Music + Visual - The Prisoner
Pitch perfect combination of rattling music, striking imagery and bizzare shit. Just like the show.
Hugo - Is a number, and no longer feels like a free man
Dexter would be my choice too. That opening might be the most perfect blend of elements to capture the show of anything I've ever seen. Comedic, disjointed, obscure, symbolic, quirky foreboding & perverseI really love the opening for Dexter. It's a great demonstration of how twisted ordinary things can look if you simply choose to see them that way, and how someone like Dexter sees the world all the time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvT76jEQ1v0Just had a flash about the 90s sitcom Wings. I remember the opening sequence being a classical piece along with a the plane flying through the clouds. It's been a long time, not sure if there was anything other than that, but I remember it being very zen-like.
