Wow. No one mentioned The 4400? That is one of the creepiest, most melancholy and totally RIGHT themes ever put together.

X-Files and Friday the 13th: the series are my two top picks.

And for comedy, I'd go with the cheap-but-fitting MST3K.

Ok, I'm going to break the rules slightly and offer up this fan-version of the recent Thundercats series opening done as if they'd done a proper full opening, showcasing the fantastic animation. The audio is apparently from a Spanish dub, so there is an annoying Spanish overdub at the very end, but the rest of it is very well done:

Now you're talking. Nothing like a cartoon where the characters fight an entire war just in the opening sequence.
