Great new clip for Episode 3

The show is obviously going to have an arc over the first season. Part of it will be Michael's redemption. We can't base everything we know about her on the pilot, which is basically a prelude to the actual story. She's at her lowest point now, from there she rises up. It's like judging Walter White as a character based only on the first half of the pilot.

Excellent point. Main character starts out a bad person and redeems themselves, no problem if it's done right. It's just so far her character hasn't made much dramatic sense and the character of Burnham is not interesting at all to me. Maybe it'll improve, maybe (hopefully) the writers make her more interesting.

Interesting scene.

I wonder what the uniforms are made of, though it's certainly not impossible to have allergies to synthetic materials. I'd have to write down all the names that Cadet Caffeine there had and cross-references what plastics said materials can be found in, especially if all the controls used are plastic or polyurethane-based... which they wouldn't be but, as with the characterizations (Burnham intrigues me more and more, I liked how the clip ended with her just saying her name the way she had. And Tilly, and I apologize for "Cadet Caffeine" because I act similarly at times in real life only I'm not female, might make for a fantastic double act. That and it's cool they're addressing people with special needs. Kinda like Barclay but only a different facet and hopefully a bit more frequent.)

I still prefer the Guinan/Ro original, but am very keen to see where this embryonic goes.

Since TBBT and Young Sheldon are shows I also want to see, and due to that clip for the next ep, I'm tempted to pony up the dough and then double dip once the Blu-Rays come out. Shame it's not on the standard broadcast channel, they'd probably get a lot more viewers a lot sooner.

Have to be completely honest with this clip. I very much enjoyed it. My fiancee' from the UK is very much loving Star Trek Discovery (yes I got her hooked), and she has special needs so this clip really got her in a soft spot that made her smile to see people with needs portrayed in the show. It makes me happy to see the woman I very much love not just enjoy a fun Scifi series but get something personal from it too. Just figured to share.

As we see in Ep. 3, Starfleet didn't take too kindly to her actions and attitude, and she is treated appropriately. And she is starting her arch by accepting-- even desiring-- her punishment.

And this is why I am disgusted by people annoyed by diversity-- it is important! I wish more people could appreciate it the way you do.
