I've gotten a lot further in this over the weekend. I've noticed that timers, "spook-o-meters", grip meters etc are all conspicuous by their absence which is a very good thing as far as I am concerned.

It all feels a lot more natural as a result.

They do it naturally instead for most things. Like in "Undertaker", Packie tells you when the coffin gets closer to falling out of the back of the hearse. (Losing the coffin lid makes for a funny visual)

I nearly lost somebody in one motorbike chase. In previous games I would have failed the mission but I knew where he was so I took a shortcut and caught up to him.

Three leaved clover is a tough son of a bitch..

Yeah I hit a dead end with that mission yesterday. I finally had to give it up and take a break. Oddly enough I almost beat it in my second attempt, but I just couldn't shake the wanted level and my escape car ended up blowing up.

Now I can't even get to the escape car.

Well I made the mistake of trying to get to the "Pay 'n Spray" on the island where the bank was. I should have made a run for the home island of Packie and maybe I could have gotten there. But I was such a bad driver that I kept running into things until eventually I had to bail out but one of my cohorts was killed in the blast. Mission over.

Ugh. I hate ranked multiplayer achievements. What idiot at RockStar thought Co-op would be fun with random players? God damn.

Am not a big fan of multiplayer achievements but I've played GTA missions with a mix random people and friends...It was quite fun, we all had a good laugh when a car load of us was sent flying into the water during a high speed maneuver

Oh, it's hilarious to dick around. But if you're going for the timed achievements, you really need everyone to be on the ball especially since they give very little margin for error.

I've lost so much frickin' money due to going to the hospital so much. I need to stop dicking around just because it's fucking expensive to do it!

I found that if you simply save your game at one of the safe houses, and then set your phone to sleep mode (it pauses all story related calls, etc) then I "dick around" for a while and then simply not save it after that. When I want to go back to playing I reload my last save.

Of course then all the cars you blow up won't be added to your stats, but I don't want to lose money at the hospital. Especially since one of the achivements is to accumulate half a million in dollars. I already got that one since I've only been to the hospital twice in my current save.

You make more than 750 thousand dollars in total by the end of the story, so yeah, if you are only buying ammo and such, you should get the achievement by the end.

Do you have quicksave turned on for every time you complete a mission or task? You can always just reload the saved game after you die.

Rockstar seriously needs to give us the option to save whenever we want, and/or have the game automatically save after in-mission cutscenes. I just went through a really long and difficult mission and was almost at the end of it. I had a tiny sliver of health left because I missed one guy who came up behind me, and then I got ambushed after a cutscene and died because I didn't have a chance to take cover. So now I have to do the whole freaking thing over again. It's annoying as hell.

I'm now stuck on two missions. One where I have to follow a frackin' subway/EL train and one where I have to chase down some DB on a bike who has Dwayne's money.

Since I'm not good at following, especialy trains and motorcycles, this is a bit tough.

And that sort of thing is exactly the reason I stopped playing for 2 weeks.

Yeah I don't know why after this many incarnations of the game they still insist on making a play long boring driving sequences over and over just to get to the start of the actual action (Three leafed clover is a good example). They put in this replay feature but for most part I find it to be mostly useless.

Yeah, that's a backwards step, in SA you at least had the option to skip the journey if you had played the mission before.

Got further on three leafed clover last night, made it all the way through the tunnel and out the other side, but got killed after I grabbed a cop car.
