^I did that too. It's much more precise than any of the other weapons.

There is an armour pick up by the stairs leading to the third floor, I think. There's a first aid kit on the ground level - you can't miss it as you have to go past it. Then there's a second on the wall on the third floor.

If necessary, the first aid kit on the ground floor respawns so you can clear out a floor and then go get some health.

If it's the mission I'm thinking of
(the one where Roman's been kidnapped and Niko runs around killing everyone and shouting out 'YOU WILL NOT HURT MY COUSIN",
then it's a matter of hiding and shooting.

However, the health pack right at the bottom of the building respawns, which might help matters.

There is actually at least 2 health packs and an armor pickup in there. Getting a sniper a rifle REALLY helps a lot. I had a lot of trouble with this mission too, but a combination of well place sniper shots and grenade tosses and I finally got to the top. I used the sniper rifle to take the last shot of the mission.

I accidentally dropped a grenade at my feet at the start of that mission, leaving me with about 1/8th of my health. Yay! I managed to make it to that first health pack and actually got through the mission regardless, but it was close.

I've been playing on and off this week as I've been really busy. I struggled a few times with the last mission I completed where you go to a guy's house and check his email and then have to go to the meeting spot and kill him. I hate chasing people in vehicles as they drive way better than me. I was getting a bit frustrated until I finally got him in a very satisfying way: I chased him around the city for a bit and was able to get a few rounds into his car. I finally wore down his vehicle enough where it caught on fire. I stopped behind him and he emerged on fire. I almost got out to finish the job, but instead I watched him burn and then blow up with the car.

That's teach the next NPC to be a pain in my ass!

I suck at driving. Aside from a couple occasions, the only way I've been able to win those missions is to chase them long enough (hey, you have the radar so they don't need to be line-of-sight) until they crash or there's a game glitch where they stop moving (usually stuck in traffic). Does that sort of thing still happen in later missions?

Also, I stayed up through the middle of the night just to rescue Roman from the damn warehouse, and now I feel really screwed up today. :(

With the email chase, if you pre-break the glass, you can usually squeeze off about ten rounds into his car as he is pulling away, that can slow him down a bit.

Just watch out when you go down a tight alley that you dont accidently turn into the skate board area, or your car ends up doing wicked pipe jumps, fun, but no good for the mission.

there's also body armor that is dropped by one of the baddies, on the third floor I think. That's very useful as you get up to the fourth floor. (and when you get there, make sure you take out the guys on the roof first, as they have clear shots at you even when you're in cover.

I found the assault rifle very useful for this mission.

You also have to be very careful with "the last shot" - shoot only one bullet and aim very well, otherwise you'll fail.

I must be the only person to have bought this game who has absolutely no interest in the multiplayer side whatsoever.
*raises hand*

Videogames are mostly a solitary experience for me. I want a good, long single player mode with a narrative I can really get into.

Having said that, I dabbled a wee bit in the multiplayer and it is pretty good. Me and a bunch of mates had a blast the other night on free mode - don't think I'd bother playing with folk I didn't know.
I'm not really into the multiplayer aspect, either. I only bought GTA4 after hearing about how solid the story was this time around.

So the storytelling got boring after a while, so I started skipping the cutscenes to get right to the mission. But there was one Playboy X cutscene I skipped... and there was no mission at the end! Anyone know what that was or am I being too vague?

I skiped teh cutscenes from the very start.

You need to wait for a phone call, then the mission will start.

You have to kill either playboy or someone else.

Serves you right :p

Three leaved clover is a tough son of a bitch.

At least I finally beat Number 1, the trick is not to drive flat out all the time, you will never make the curves.

I have stolen all the cars Brucie wants now, so I guess while I grew tired of having to wait to 6AM to start the Packie mission, I will find a cop car and do the vigilante missions for a while.

Also, on another cutscene I skipped, when I delivered the car with the dead bodies, was Manny one of them? And if so, why was he whacked?

I've watched every cutscene. I'm really digging the story and I really like Niko. He's my favorite protagonist in the GTA series so far.

You need to phone Dwayne and then phone Playboy X. They each ask you to kill the other. You are free to choose, but you are better off killing Playboy X as you get his apartment and Dwayne as a friend.

Yeah, I think (have gotten this far yet) killing Dwayne nets you a cash reward and nothing more from Playboy, killing PX gets you his pad, Dwayne as a friend (and side misisons?). Also in the PX's apartment is "Fido's" outfit from GTA3.
