phucking phreaky though.

What do you suppose the long-term effects of breathing that gas will be?

Those hybrids were really scary. Reminded me of a combination of a zombie and those vampires from I Am Legend.

Meh.

Vengeance without the benefit of Connor/Michael.

Nice to see another Trek veteran (Nicole deBoer) in the Gateverse. And that she survived. Hope she turns up again -- I liked the scene with Carson (and frankly expected her snarky sister in arms to end up dead).

How on Earth-or NuLantea, could Sheppard not know who the women were or that there was an all female team? He seemed stupidly shocked, in a bad 1960s kind of way... He's the head of the base's military...he should know who his people are. No need for the dated lame oooh, lookie, Amazons! vibe from him or the show. And why was there so much build up over Vega pre season, when they knew she'd be offed in her second appearance?
Christina Cox is always a welcome sight, and her team warrants an 'A', but sadly, they were stuck in a story that didn't do them justice. Yet another critter wave shoot'em up, recycling the 1st Micheal's hybrids story from season 3.
Meh. Not the worst episode ever, but nothing all that enthralling either.

I thought it was fun. I liked Christina Cox and the team. The exception was Vega who sucked but she's gone. The actress just looked like she was playing dress up soldier. The other two looked like the real deal.

I liked the episode enough especially since there's been so many stinkers this season. There was a lot of creepy atmospheric set up and the creatures were good but the direction fell short of creating the suspense needed for a truly scary episode. Sci-Fi TV can pull off horror (see Doctor Who's "Blink," various 1990s Outer Limits episodes and a ton of X-Files episodes) but this missed the mark.

Didn't realize that was Nicole at all (course I didn't see the opening guest credits either). All in all, this was a fun romp for me, the creatures were suitably scary and the environment eerie. Excellent.

Overall, it was enjoyable, while nothing overly fantastic. I think they did the horror aspect of it really well. Shep not knowing the team didn't seem too strange. He did know the leader of the team, but considering we don't know how many teams Atlantis has or how many times these teams interact with each other or if this was a new(er) team, it is possible that he simply didn't know or it didn't immediately connect right away. That being said, you would think he would have did a quick check to see which team was already on the mission to know who he would be working with.

I did find it amusing that of all the Atlantis people to bite it, it was Captain Vega, a character the producers were going out of their way (it seemed) to promote as a new reoccurring character.

I was a little confused on why Beckett was leaving Atlantis. He seemed like he wanted to keep working on the cure for the plague that he feels responsible for, but feels that he needs to leave Atlantis to do it? Something seems off about that, but I probably mis-heard it.

I don't get all the Vega pimping either. Maybe some stupid Mallozzi misdirection? If that was the case it would've served her character better to put her in a couple of the episodes then kill her off.

AMAZONS! AMAZONS!! AMAZONS!!! AMAZONS!!!!

(Need I say more?)

Oh, OK: **LOL** "Whispers" was a decent "scare" episode that, for me, was enhanced by the presence of an all-female Stargate team. Four intelligent, wise-cracking and beautiful women ... **dreamy sigh**

Gatekeeper

It's the Sci-Fi dream episode: Stargate + Hot Chicks with Guns + Saturday Night "Sci-Fi Original Picture". Though it felt like Gratuitous Carson.:) Nicole de Boer is still looking quite good in her late thirties. I don't even know how to rate this silly show anymore, it was a change of pace at any rate.

How on Earth-or NuLantea, could Sheppard not know who the women were or that there was an all female team?

Exactly my reaction... Hello??? He's the military commander. Shouldn't he know what teams his people are on?!? :wtf:

Liked that sergeant, though and her comments. :guffaw:

I really liked it, whoever directed this ep did a great job.
Is it just me, or does Nicole deBoer look a lot like Rachel Ray now? The only difference is deBoer doesn't repulse me.

I think that they actually did a really good job doing a Scary Movie atmosphere and all that. I thought it actually looked really good for HD too. Finally it was in full screen.

Didn't do anything for me. Felt the gimmick of the all-female team was a bit lame. Didn't really like the characters either. Would have preferred to see some well established characters instead. Though if they did I guess it would make it a bit obvious with who would die.

Gave it the lowest rating after the first viewing, probably a bit too harsh.

Well, I gave it the lowest rating as well - it wasn't the worst episode of SGA, but the stupidity of Sheppard and the others' reactions made the watching almost unbearable.

This made me jump in a few places:guffaw: can't remember last time a show or film did that so i gave it above average.

Not the best! Just a standard zombielike episode with too many cliches. Didn't like the all female team who had little respect the Shepherd which seemed to me because he was a man.

Yeah, Ok, I give it an "Above Average"

let me explain

Yeah, it was the same ole Zombie shoot-em-up kinda storyline, BUT, what made this episode above average for me was the atmosphere and the character interaction. I saw some very unique character interaction for a change, it was neat seeing another team at work, and it was great seeing Nicole again, I love her, her and Becketts developing relationship was neat to see, and the atmosphere and feel of this episode was very creepy, they did a good job for being mostly in that stupid stage village they use, they made good use of it this time, so yeah, above average for a change
