Meredith

Vice Admiral
Admiral
A new alien threat, an alliance on the brink of destruction. Holy Crap, Grade this thing!

I thought it was very good. Too bad they didnt start out the season with this episode. And come to think of that too bad they Wasted episodes on everything else they filmed so far for this season.
I think if they were pumping out episodes like this last season we might not have been cancelled.
Its episodes like this that make allthe other episodes they have done this season look like filler. And thats all they were. Crap.

Kree!!!!

So love to see sweet adorable Daniel again!
So love to see Woolsey. Picardo appears to be getting the Amanda Treatment.

Todd's remark to Keller about what will the wraith be after the treatment was reminiscient of Michael in the early episodes.

Last 10 minutes were AWESOME! Enough so that I was able to overlook the continuation of the idiotic and juvenile Ronon-Jennifer-McKay "triangle."

TWO WEEKS UNTIL PART 2! :scream:
Sanctuary had better be worth it! :klingon:

Where did Todd get that yellow bar he used to subdue the crew? That would have been a very handy device for the Wraith to use in the last 4-5 years...

My first Kree vote for this season - and in a very long time.

I just hope the conclusion lives up to the build-up. I would be awesome a major shake-up occurs in the pegasus galaxy as a result of this. But I doubt it, sadly.

It would be neat if the device basically shuts down the stargate network as a side effect while in operation. An interesting trade-off.

Above Average.

Lots of questions raised here. Who are these bad guys? Does Daniel get paid more than McKay? Who sent that gate-nuke at the end? How long until Ronan and Keller are caught banging in the gate-room?

And why the heck does Todd think that:

My cruisers going KABOOM = Humans fault!!!

I don't think he even knows that Atlantis has the device. Seems a bit of a stretch to blame them, a way to create artificial conflict which services the plot more than the character.

That's the only major nitpick I have at the moment.

The rest? Very good. New Bad Guys have some impressive tech. McKay-Daniel interaction was OK, nothing outstanding (yet). And the last few minutes were great.

This episode was amazing! It had it all.

1) Daniel helps explore the city of Atlantis and makes a major discovery. Yes!
2) The interplay between Daniel and McKay was great. I liked the scene whey they talk about not getting recognition for their work.
3) The aliens were super cool and powerful.
4) Todd takes control of the Daedulus.
5) And Ancient devices that destroys Wraith ships in hyperspace but also destroys active stargates. Wow.
6) Atlantis' gate explodes. Now, that's a cliffhanger!

Who says they were the bad guys. They might not be used to working with others, or they simply see us as too primitive for any further contact. They didn't even fire any weapons or threaten Atlantis when they showed. They simply went for the device. No casualities.

Who sent that gate-nuke at the end?
technically speaking, it was our beloved McKay.

They could have, ya know, asked for it.

No need to open up a hyperspace window 10 meters above the ocean; Goto Altantis; Rip through the shields like butter; Beam in; And then deploy their DIY elevator before taking the device AND the 2 people working on it. If I was McKay or Daniel, I'd consider them 'Bad-Guys' as soon as they stunned me; dragged me out the lab; And beamed me onboard their ship.

And that's before the whole "get the device working or I'll kill one of you" talk.

I don't see how......yet....if there's a explanation between the device being switched on and the 'gate-nuke' showing up, then I missed it in this episode, probably in Part 2 I guess.

It was not a 'gate-nuke'. The device itself causes active stargates to explode. The episode gave us several hints. We know the device sends energy through hyperspace. Atlantis detected energy building up in the event horizon itself. So, the energy which causes static in hyperspace is going to build up at the event horizon of an active stargate which eventually overloads the stargate. Boom! The effect is similar to the Ancient device that Anubis used in Redemption against SG1's stargate. Energy passes through the event horizon which keeps the stargate open passed the 38 ninutes, slowly building up until it overloads the stargate.

He mentioned that they must have some how found a particular device, I forget what he called it, but clearly he recognised the effects when the two cruisers went boom, thats why he blames them.

Loved this episode, great to see Daniel, quality all round. That said, I still dont care for Keller or any romantic subplot surrounding her.

An Excellent episode. Great to have Daniel back.

Loved the Daniel - McKay interaction except for one thing; McKay was made to play the skeptic and out of character during their hunt for the room.

The new transportation device as really neat. And there's a potential to be killed if you happen to be in the path of travel!

Todd's device was just a little too easy. But I guess in the interest of time it was the simplest thing to do. Having the Wraith take over the ship was great.

I'm very much looking forward to part 2. I think part 1 will be in the list of top 20 eps for sure.

Excellent, for the show, at least.

Gotta be nice sometime.

The EMH meets A.D. Skinner! Bald man overload!

And of course Keller and Ronan didn't get zapped. I'm hoping they get eaten next episode.

And why the heck does Todd think that:

My cruisers going KABOOM = Humans fault!!!

Because he's not stupid? :D

It's not a stretch for him to assume that the humans are responsible for the destruction of his ships after they unexpectedly jump away from a meeting with the Daedalus.

Anyhow, there was a whole heap of awesomeness here.

Its stupid (from a Todd POV) that the humans would wait until a meeting with him to deploy such a weapon - if it was their intent to betray him. 2 seconds of thought from Todd and surely he'd be thinking "they would complete fools to betray me now".

I think Todd was more worried about what would happen to the wraiths if they no longer needed to feed and took the opportunity to prevent that from happening.

Why wait until now?

He's been onboard with this plan since The Queen. Now he has doubts? Not buying it.

Why have the meeting at all? He could've sent a message to Atlantis saying "Sorry, but I like feasting on farmers rather than the apples they grow. The deal is off."
