I thought 09 was pretty good, and I love Beyond (my favorite of the 3).
Into Darkness was too long and kinda dumb at points. All JMHO of course.
Star Trek put out a fair amount of crap when Gene was still around.

Can we spend a little time to talk about how SG-1 must clearly be set in a different timeline from the film Stargate based on the number of inconsistencies present?
Then there's the fact that TPTB subsequently tweaked the pilot of SG-1 to make it more consistent with the rest of the series. So I guess that's three timelines.
Inconsistencies happen, whether for better or worse.
What tends to get me is when a movie or what-not attempts to re-create an earlier sequence, but flaws creep in that make it not quite an exact re-creation. I just get these little twinges of disappointment at such times.

Yes, we know. Abrams is a filthy hedonist laying shirtless on a kline while Orci and Lindelof drop grapes in his mouth. It's a travesty that the creative vision of Star Trek is left to the responsibility of such a man. Why Gene? Why have you forsaken us to this fraud? What has fandom done to deserve this punishment and hardship?
That actually has been discussed in Stargate fandom.
SG-1's continuity issues remind me of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon versus the Ghostbusters movie. But the latter went so far as to have the GB movie be an in-universe movie about the first mission of the animated team, explaining any inconsistencies (like Dana seemingly not existing, or the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man having been captured rather than destroyed)
You must have seen different movies than I did.
Some of Gene Roddenberry's ashes were taken aboard Space Shuttle Columbia during mission STS-52, however they were returned, and apart from certain maneuvers during launch and orbital insertion, there was no spin stabilization used on the STS fleet.
However more of Mr Roddenberry's ashes were sent into orbit aboard Celestis' burial satellite Earthview 01, the first "cemetary satellite." This was launched in 1997 using a OSC Pegasus launch vehicle with the following parameters:
Apogee: 578.7 km (361.7 miles)
Perigee: 551.0 km (344.4 miles)
Orbital Period: 96.0 minutes
15 revolutions per day
Inclination: 151 degrees
Reentry occurred May 20, 2002
So while it is correct to say from a certain point of view that GR was spinning in space, this was a very gentle rotation and it ended when the satellite reentered earth's atmosphere and was incinerated.

Well, yeah, it is. If it didn't make money, it wouldn't have lasted for fifty years. And let's be honest, there's a quote describing Zephram Cochrane that's about dollar signs and good looking naked women on a tropical island that can be applied very accurately to Roddenberry.
Then what's the issue?
Yes, that's why GR wrote lyrics to the TOS theme song, developed the IDIC symbol and was adamant that Nimoy wear it in the episode. Also why "Assignment: Earth" happened.
Nah, he totally did all that for artistic integrity. Making money off it was just a convenient bonus.
