Spoilers Gotham - Season 3

Apparently, the return date is set for September 19th. Being Gotham, I don't know if that's a promise or a threat. ;)

Valerie Vale is going to hang out with Gerald Crane, Roman Sionis Sr., Perturbed Hatter and Misdemeanor Croc.

VALERIE Vale, eh? Makes some sense if Vicki should be more of a Bruce peer.
Works for me. I think introducing older relatives to people who should be close in age to Bruce is a nice way to get around that, and still have a similar character. I know that all of these kids ending up so similar to their relatives is ridiculous, but that's pretty much become Gotham's specialty at this point.

Hopefully the recasting means they have found a way to actually utilize the potential of the character.

It'd be pretty creepy if they did, frankly. I mean, even if she's somehow transformed to look like a grown woman, she'll still be only 14-15 years old chronologically. So if they turn her into a seductress like her comics counterpart, that will be a whole new level of wrong, even for this show.

I wasn't even really thinking of that aspect of the character (never read many Batman comics alas...) but even then I'm OK with it. They can have her seduce without acting upon it if need be. I'm sure 14-15 year old girls are certainly testing the waters at that age (at least) but if one has to project than it can be as creepy as one needs it to be. I'll wait and see how it plays out.

5’10” model-actress Maggie Geha, 28, is replacing 5'1" child actress Clare Foley, 14, in the role of Ivy Pepper for the third season of “Gotham.”

Fox explains the growth spurt:

Following an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, Ivy Pepper finds herself reborn, and one step closer to the DC villain she is destined to become: Poison Ivy. Now a 19-year-old woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms, she sets her sights on Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz).
Does this mean Ivy was 18 last year, or is “Gotham” fast-forwarding a few years into the future for season three?

So, a 28 year old is going to play a 19 year old...? :brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:

Perhaps the monster secretes something that ages her by half a decade? As to the casting, meh--not unusual. And my wife's best friend looked identical from age 20 to 35 or so (hairstyles notwithstanding) and even today can easily pass as a decade younger than her 50 years. And that's without the benefit of a Hollywood makeup artist.

And continuing Gotham's theme of "Rise of the Relatives," James Carpinello (The Good Wife, Person of Interest, The Mob Doctor, aka Amy Acker's husband) has been cast as Mario Falcone.

Well, I do hope they skip a couple of years... David Masouz in that last episode looks at least 3-4 years older than his first Gotham appearance.

But kinda creepy what they're planning with Ivy... a little too soon, no?
