I'm convinced TrekBBS lives in its own pocket Bizarro universe, where the common opinions expressed here are the polar opposite of everywhere else in reality. It's the only thing that makes sense based upon my personal experiences and most of the other forums I keep track of.
I'm enjoying Gotham. It's obviously its own thing, and they're staying internally consistent for the most part. The acting is fine from most of the regulars, the ideas are interesting if a bit odd sometimes, and I don't particularly like that they have most of the supervillians existing before Batman (as I've stated before), but that's really minor as long as they stay consistent within their own universe. Which, again, is clearly not the same as the comics, movies, or other television series.
Heck, with the Flash showing that there's multiple DC universes, it's downright fine that it's so much different.
Even the completely canonical Flashpoint storyline showed that things could go an unexpected route and still wind up with some of the same characters.
