Gotham - Season 1

Google did something and now in certain browsers google images has reverted to the older version. I mainly use Opera and have the same problems as Christopher is having. But when I use my Google Chrome browser I have the latest version. It works fine in Internet Explorer as well.

^ Did you click on the camera?

If you mean an icon that looks like a camera, I don't see one in my browser. *sigh* I should probably just try getting Chrome.

My point is that he stuck with a Burton-style Catwoman design, which is very different from his original design, and much more important that the question of hair colour IMO.

You're talking about the costume. I'm talking about the woman underneath. Selina Kyle's revised character design looked nothing like Pfeiffer.

And I don't know why you're arguing with me about this. As the article I linked to proves, it is a documented fact that the B:TAS producers were required to change Penguin and Catwoman to resemble their movie appearances. That is not in dispute, and it's the real point here.

Opera was updated into version no. 25 a couple of days ago. Could be that there are some bugs that the developers missed (I'm on Chrome now, at work, so I can't check for myself). Opera devs seem to be a bunch of arrogant, unfriendly a-holes though, so you might as well just migrate to Chrome. It's objectively the finest browser in existence now anyway.

^I'm still back on Opera 12.17, because I gather the recent versions have lost a bunch of the features Opera used to have. I know I should try Chrome, but I'm just so comfortable with the features Opera has, and I'm slow to embrace change.

The old Opera, with all those kickass features it had, was a work of art. Turning it into what is basically a Chrome clone was kind of a FU to its small but loyal userbase.

A Valentine to the fans [TM] indeed.

I use Opera 12.17 and the bleeding edge Opera (I think we're up to 27 on Developer) interchangeably, largely because some websites -- like Google -- just don't work correctly in Opera 12.x.

Agreed. It's fun to read the developer posts on the dev blog where they're touting all the cool new features they're rolling out. Like bookmarks! Yes, Opera did away with bookmarks when they forked Chrome. The comment threads then devolve into hilarity as long-time users tear into the devs. Basic things, like syncing with Opera Link, are apparently beyond the devs.

The current Opera is Opera in name only. It's nothing like the browser I've used for close to a decade. The critical feature for me, honestly, is M2, the email/RSS client. I would love for that to be reintegrated into the browser.

Err... does Chrome have bookmarks?

I can't wrap my head around the idea of a browser without bookmarks. That's like a car without windows. How do you tell where to go?

Yes, that one reason why the Opera devs were roundly mocked. They didn't even implement basic features of Chrome when they launched the first Chome-ified Opera (version 15.0).

Bookmarks came back around version 21, but they can't be synced with bookmarks Opera has stored on the Opera Link server. And there are some quirks; I don't believe you can rename a link (to make it make more sense to you), and there's no way to organize links.

The latest development to Bookmarks is "Visual Bookmarks." While they've kept Speed Dial, the latest version of Opera removes the thumbnail images and replaces them with colored titles with the URL as text (which makes it difficult to tell at a glance what some of my Speed Dial options are). Instead, they've added the thumbnail to the Bookmarks.

I've never seen anything quite like this in all my years around computers. We have a company that took a highly regarded product and flushed their product and their goodwill right down the toilet. I've long made peace with the fact that the old Opera is never coming back, and I'll run Opera 12.17 until it no longer works.

Wow, I'm really out of the Opera loop. It was my go-to browser for years but I have been using Firefox in recent years. Opera had tabbed browsing years ahead of its competitors which made me a huge fan.

So happens my installed Opera is 12.10, I hadn't heard about all the recent changes mentioned in this thread but indeed I do not see the camera icon when using Opera.

Ooh, is that a customizable toolbar for your favorite bookmarks? That feature is one of the main things I like about Opera 12, so if Chrome has it, I could probably adjust pretty easily.

I don't want to drag the thread off-topic more, but how similar are Chrome's commands to Opera's? For instance, one thing that annoys me about Firefox is that in Opera, I can open a link in a new tab by hitting shift-left click, but in Firefox that opens a whole new browser window. Also Firefox doesn't let me close the only open tab without closing the whole browser, whereas with Opera I can more easily close all tabs and leave the browser open.

One advantage to using Chrome would be that I have it on my smartphone, and I gather that the bookmarks would be automatically shared between devices. That would be handy.

Yes. Drag-and-drop.

In Chrome it's control-click. Shift-click opens a new window.

I fell asleep before the end of the episode. That`s it for me I`m afraid. I will follow this thread to see if there is a turnaround because I think the show has potential, but I can use those forty five minutes to watch two episodes of Colbert instead.

Colbert is on the clock.

There will not be any more new Colbert in a couple months.

I mean really, the Late Show?

Oh, Letterman is going?

I seriously thought that he was going to die on camera.

Hells if I was Letterman, I would fake my death every night for my last month.

How will Paul Schaffer eat?

The character of Stephen ColbBear is going away. The actor/comedian that plays him will be hosting the other show. Bigger pay cheque.

The death of late night talk shows was when the agents of the guests forced them to remove the spontaneity of the interviews and have preplanned discussions. Letterman from 1989 is much different from the Letterman of 2002, for example.

If you're signed in, your bookmarks go with you from device to device. Since I use several different computers, a tablet, and a smart phone at various times, it's handy for me.

I tend to have both Chrome and IE open at the same time on a PC, as I think IE is better at a (very) few things.

I never got into Firefox or Opera. I've tried both and just didn't care for them.
