Got a little misty eyed watching the Christie's Auction

Photon

Commodore
Commodore
last night.

When they pulled the 6 foot DS9 model and started the S1 music, big smile and teared up a little. "Damn that was a good show"

Stewart and Brooks got a lot of face time-pleased w/that too.

Sidebar: DS9 model went for 110K-wished it'd been me w/the big $$$$

I was absolutely SHOCKED at how much that stuff was going for.

I think Picards flute went for $40,000 or something like that.

Enterprise-D went for an astounding half a million.

Stewart seemed a little surprised at how much the stuff went for too.

That auction was the holy grail of Trek collectors, When I saw the Okudas going though that gigantic warehouse I was drooling at the thought of all the stuff thats in there. Must be like a kid in a candy store.

The guy the won the Reliant looked like he'd just scored a TD in the Super Bowl-hi fives all around. I 'member Voyager was sold for the same price as DS9

I was kinda surprised Enterprise-A didnt sell for more that Enterprise-D

I wasn't. I think for a lot of people who grew up during the Next Generation if they hear the word "Enterprise" they think of the 1701-D. As much as it pains me normally if you say "Enterprise" I think of the 1701-D and E before the 1701 and the A.

I'd rather get the E-A, but for second prize I'll take the big D.

I have no clue where to put except to park it right next to my car in the garage. Not exactly the best place to put the old lady.

“….Picards flute went for $40,000 and the DS9 model goes for 110k”

That’s what I don’t get about memorabilia auctions. What the hell is anyone going to do with an oversized dust collecting mock up of DS9?

However in my mind Picards flute going for 40k is unbelievable? That flute is priceless if I had the dough it’d be worth 500k to me. If humanity lasts another 100 years that TNG flute episode (the Inner Light) will still be one of the greatest and most memorable shows ever put to film…and that precious flute that was seen in another half dozen other episodes only goes for a measly 40k???

I don’t get it.
