I make it no secret that I don't think that highly of Voyager and some and that is because of its of the new alien species didn't do much and often start strong and fall down hard.Though recently I was watching Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy and one of my favorite parts of the episode were the alien species called the over lookers and the Hierarchcy. I actually enjoyed watching this species of glorified office workers interacting and they don't overstay their welcome. What unique Voyager Aliens do you guys actually like?

My favorite alien race in Voyager were the Vidiians. They were sympathetic, had an amazing guest star in Denara Pel, and a lot of the episodes where they were featured were great episodes.

I liked the Vidiians too, genuinely threatening, but quite sympathetic villains at the same time.

I always liked the Hirogen too, but think they became overused

My favourites though are probably the Krenim.

The Voth I thought were interesting aliens... who happened to be from Earth. The Ocampa had a truckload of mystery I thought should've been unraveled throughout the series. I thought a majority of the aliens Voyager encountered could've been more than just the "villain of the week" but the artistry of the makeup was outstanding and at times inventive.

Vidiians and Krenim all the way. They both had more depth to them than all of the other species combined, which is hilarious because the Krenim were only in 2 episodes.

Two that I think were underserved were the Haakonians and the Trabe. The Haakonians were the ones who launched a WMD against the Talaxians and the Trabe were the ones who used to enslave the Kazon. Both I thought could have looked a lot more interesting, and then maybe would have been seen more than just the one time.

I would have also like to see more of the non-humanoids. The Nacene (Caretakers) and the Ba'Neth come to mind.

We probably should have seen less of species we did see given at how high warp the ship was racing through space. The Kazon should have lasted half a season. The Hirogen were more interesting than most, but didn't they get a pass because they used the ancient warp network they'd established before their civilization devolved into game-hunters?

The Voth were too powerful to use too often, but propulsion wouldn't have been their roadblock. They could have shown up again at least once, especially as Voyager was the one Earth ship in the quadrant they might have wanted to connect with for whatever reason.

The too-Cardassian Vaadwaur ditto were made for a followup.

Also, I included a couple of VOY aliens in this collage for anyone interested.

Do the Voth count as aliens, considering they're native to Earth?

I mean I suppose they ARE aliens to like, Vulcans and what not - but to humans, they're native.

I wouldn't say the Krenim as such have depth. But Annorax does.

Since the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, and Humans (and probably more humanoids) all originate from the Chase protohumanoid species, they're also not aliens then...

    My favorite were the Vidiians.

Creepy as hell, had some technology that was superior so it was a level fighting field against our heroes, and had a built-in morality questioning vault to mine. Visually, on paper, and everything else about them... the best species the VOYAGER producers came up with.

Obviously, they would not appear after a time, but we got really good episodes with them. "PHAGE", "FACES", "LIFESIGNS", and "DEADLOCK", which they were the full focus of, were among the best episodes of seasons 1 and 2.

But still evolved separately on different homeworlds.

the both didn't, they're from the same place.

alien means "foreigner" as in, from a different place. Klingons, Romulans etc share a single ancestor, but are undeniably NOT from the same place.

Voyager is far from my favorite Trek, but I impressed with their production values and many of the aliens on the series.

    Some of my favorites:
Viidians (Farscape One described the reasons why very well). Viidians should've been the series's first big bads).
    Species 8472
    Voth
    Vaadwaur
    Hirogen
    Swarm
    Trabe
