a Chimera remaster accidentally snuck into Today's patch https://twitter.com/thomasthecat/status/1722680541819125975
Shifting into maintenance mode is easy. Continuing new game features and story development when your Parent Corporation is going bankrupt..that's hard...
I do not understand why they do not add this stuff while the tv show was airing, as you would think the free advertising tie in would improve sales within the game, rather instead of now when the games future is so unknown.
Because they're normally not given plot info in advance by CBS/Paramount, so they need to wait like the rest of us to see what the ship does in the show before they can recreate it. That's also why it took 2 years for them to make the California class as well. Mike McMahan teased that something cool might happen with the ship in Season 2, so they waited until after season 2 to make it just to see what was going to happen, in case they could turn it into a game mechanic or something. I remember a story they told back when they released the (first) Crossfield Class. CBS had given them all the 3D assets for the ship before the show aired, and the ship artists were inspecting them and noticed that the saucer could rotate, and because they weren't given any plot info they had no idea what the heck that was about, so they contacted Van Citters, and IIRC he did share some info as to why it could rotate. Still they waited until after Season 1 finished to release the ship as to not spoil anything. The game's team isn't very large either, so some things will get pushed to the side until they're done doing the next big story mission because they don't have the personnel to do everything. The Shrike was probably planned out months ago, but had to wait until their current work was finished to work on it.
The Miranda Antares variant is coming to STO next week, but you can only get it if you own Star Trek Infinite https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/developer-diary/star-trek-infinite-dev-log-10-engage.1610955/
£27 for a Miranda skin......i think i will pass on that. Lol But keep your eyes peeled on ebay for games who bought infinite but do not play STO......you may get it there for cheap cheap.
It would have to be 75% off for me to grab just for the skin, as i already have stellaris and just could not get into it, too many menus. lol They need to just remaster the Armada games for modern hardware and be done with it. lol

Because they don't get advance info on anything and since they want their ships to reflect what they do on screen, they have to watch an episode and take the info from that. Plus, their ship pipeline in 3-6 months depending on if they need programmers to code a new feature/function for a ship or ship console.
Winter ship this year is the Tamarian Space Cruiser https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11559073-q's-winter-wonderland!
This one? If so, this is the first time a Winter Wonderland ship came from existing canon since WW was introduced back in 2013 with the Breen ("Chel Grett") Warship from DS9.
