Give Nero credit!

Norrin Radd

Vice Admiral
No other villain in Star Trek movie history has ever managed to cause such pain, suffering, and utter destruction during a film.

wait you wanna give him credit for using a five mile long ship packed with weapons from 100 years in the future to destroy several federation ships.

Nero's overall plan was hackneyed. But in way he still won! He destroyed Vulcan. He won!
You've been watching that You Tube video, Franklin. "Hey guys, I'm going to blow up Vulcan now..."

Just as an aside, speaking of that, I have a theory why the ship was so big: it had to be able to store the drill rig. I would really be interested to see how they did store that rig inside the ship.

That's actually one of the things about the movie that annoys me; Nero was such a dumb villain but was successful is carrying out his plan, so that means that the heroes were dumber than him. I don't want idiots to act as role models.

He wasn't dumb, he was insane with grief. See how rational you act when you see the homeworld of your civilization vanish in the blink of an eye.

Comparing Nero to Khan is like claiming Boston Rob from Survivor is a greater evil genius than Prof. Moriarity from Sherlock Holmes. -- RR

No one compared him to Khan. He did achieve more than Khan, and he was a bit stupid in the same way Khan was.

I'd just kill myself and be done with it. I wouldn't go around blowing up planets for no reason because I'm not a moron with extremely contrived motivations.

That's what you'd do. Fine. He's not you.

I would probably be catatonic for the rest of my life.
