Gi.I.Joe trailer: fails to fail

I don't know...

I think I'll wait for sadistic aliens have taken over the Earth and have used this movie as a means of torture; thus, have captured me, straped me to a chair, clamped my eyes open for this one.

Even then, I'll probably will myself into being deaf and blind.

Maybe if this fails, they'll give it to JJ Abrams.

HAWK: Bruce Greenwood
DUKE: Chris Pine
COBRA COMMANDER: Karl Urban
DESTRO: Eric Bana
ZARTAN: Zachary Quinto
STORM SHADOW: John Cho
SCARLETT: Rachel Nichols :p
LADY JAYE: Zoe Saldana
GUNG HO: Simon Pegg
FLINT: Chris Hemsworth
BARONESS: Jennifer Morrison
JINX: Winona Ryder
SNAKE EYES: Anton Yelchin

Hey, gotta keep one member of the original cast onboard! Might as well be Rachel! :D

The trailer fails because there isn't a long, 30-second shot of Rachel Nichols in that skin-tight black leather suit. Dammit.
:guffaw::techman:

Guys, am I the only one who hears the theme from Team America: World Police when this trailer is playing? I mean, come on... COBRA knocks over/destroys the freakin' Eiffel Tower! :p

Ya know, when I had GI Joes, they were 12" tall and meant to be replicas of actual soldiers. I never understood the itty bitty 3" village-people-looking versions. How were they "real" American heroes?

They all served in the same military the 12" guy served in, The United States Armed Forces. How is that hard to understand? You can't be that old.

As for the trailer, I saw it when I saw Year One yesterday. Every new trailer for the pending cluster-fuck makes me want to burn my eyes out.

Ok what do I think? Two things

Goddamn this looks good!

Everyone has been ragging on this movie ever since the first few stills of the Delta-6 Accelerator Suits came online. Now of course the hardcore Joeists are going to hate this updated version of G.I.Joe no matter what. But if you think of this as a fast summer movie this looks fun as hell!
One - you think this looks good

Mind you, Terminator 4 seemed like that too but we all know what a fuck of fail it came out to be...imo(fixed this for you)
Two - you think T:4 is full of fail

Your opinion carries little to no weight with me on what good might be.
LOLWUT? :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Don't forgoet TMNT, even though it was started as a comic, it became a cartoon then a movie mostly to sell action figures.

Mind you, Terminator 4 seemed like that too but we all know what a fuck of fail it came out to be. Even though I am still miffed about it not being an American team, but as long as the movie is fun I am willing to overlook that little aspect (just like fans did about the destruction of one of Sci Fi's most beloved planets in Star Trek).

What do you guys think of the trailer?

I chuckled at the end. Lame line. But GOOD lame. A good sign. :techman:

There are hardcore Joeists???

RAMA

back in 2000, I was working on a parody project that needed the original cartoon G.I.-Joe theme, so I figured, let's see what's on the net. The sheer amount of websites and other sources I found on a search RIVALS the amount of 'Star Trek' sites (at least back then). Needless to say, I was shocked.

As for the trailer. Saw it when I went to see Star Trek. Looked like your standard cliche action flick to me. Hell, stick Bruce Willis in there, and you'd have Die Hard 5. I saw a couple of G.I. Joe animated episodes back in the 1980ies - it came on before Robotech which is what I got hooked on back then ;), as far as my reaction the promo overall: "Meh.'

GI JOE is one of those movies I'll say I won't go see but I will go see it because I owe those 3 3/4" bastards that much. I lived and breathed GI JOE back in the day.

They should have just made a live-action version of the already-existing GI JOE The Movie...toss out Cobra-La and through in nano-bots instead of the spores...work with me here!

Another problem with the accelerator suits is that one of the things about the toyline is that everyone had a unique look and had a special skill and the suits seem to diminish that and put everyone on an equal footing (another concession to appeal to socialist Europe? j/k). Also, it would seem to maybe diminish what Snake Eyes skills bring to the team.
