Ghostbusters 2016: Talk about the movie(s).

Yeah just because he didn't want to do a Ghostbusters 3 doesn't mean he had a problem with Ghostbusters itself. I think he just rightly saw that any sequel wouldn't have lived up to the original (or probably even been as good as the second movie, frankly).

Bit of a flip to Aykroyd.
I imagine if we get Bill then Ernie is next.

A friend of mine in the UK met Hudson at a convention a couple of weeks ago, and the question of a cameo came up; Hudson said that they did approach him, but he's still sore about the reboot itself and said that whether or not he does it depends on how much they pay him.

Bear in mind that that Hudson has appeared in podcasts for free, and in Ghostbusters fan films, and has low rates for autographs or photos at conventions and is happy to do special requests, and replies to fans on Twitter. Take that for what you will.

I think I've said this before, but yes, Murray is very fond of the original film and considers Venkman to be one of the best roles of his career. One of the reasons he kept holding up Ghostbusters 3 was due to that fondness.

Imagine the outrage if Murray as a new character and Aykroyd's cameo started becoming ghostbusters in Feig's movie.

Aykroyd supposed to be a taxi driver that says "I ain't afraid of no ghost"

Last year at Jalopnik, somebody said that the Ghostbusters should have new cars instead of the same ones:

This summer marks the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, and you really can't talk about that movie — at least we can't — without talking about the Ghostbusters' car, the Ecto-1. The original was a 1959 Cadillac 'professional' car — as in ambulance or hearse. But what if the Ghostbusters had to use a new car? What should they pick?

These Modern Cars Would Work For The Ghostbusters

Myself, as I've said before, the kind of vehicle that the Ghostbusters should be driving in a movie should either be a van (large Chrysler GM, or Ford model) or something like these:

(I've also included the aforementioned Chrysler vans as well.)

I'd offer him scale and if that's not enough he can take a hike, he's easily the least important character of the original Ghostbusters. I'd rather have Annie Potts and Rick Moranis in a cameo as a weirdo couple, that could be fun, I like both of them a lot.

@Shaka (the quote function isn't showing the quotes): Nah, those take away from the working class schlubs idea. Too new, too fancy, well above what the Ghostbusters would manage starting out.

The idea in the article is that they can't have an old car, and that they have to get a new one (or at least a recent one from a few years ago.) The Dodge van that I showed in my post is 'working-class' enough for anybody, as is the Dodge Magnum.

Hudson and his character is more a part of the Ghostbusters than Rick Moranis's character ever was (and he isn't even acting anymore anyway.)

New picture of Chris in Ghostbusters gear on one of the motorcycles:

Not sure entirely why, but his overall look and expression in that picture makes me think he going to be some clueless naive intern they hesitantly hire because one of them wants to get up on his Mjolnir. Hijinks ensue as he constantly screws up until the final act when he does something worthwhile.

I'd love to have both in the movie, but I'd still go with Hudson over Moranis. The man is a Ghostbuster and deserves to be there as much as Murray or Akroyd. Also he had some of the best lines.

"If someone asks if you're a god, you say YES!"

Hmm, so I wonder if the uniform means he actually goes out on jobs with the ladies, or if he just wears one for some other reason?

^I'm guessing it's something like Louis going out to help the guys in Ghostbusters II. It looks like he has the name "Kevin" written in duct tape and stuck on the uniform.

Yeah, agreed. As I posted earlier in the thread, I think the GBs need something a bit more vintage or retro-like. I wouldn't buy a ragtag group being able to afford something newer. I also feel the vintage aspect adds a comical sheen that you just wouldn't get with something newer.
