Good read. I wonder if Immortals with Cavil is a likely candidate to have the GR2 trailer shown? They mentioned it would likely get shown at the next 'big one' but don't know which that might be. Cavil as Superman is at least a loose connection to have a comic trailer debut. Much like Sherlock 2 might be for The Avengers.

I like how they solidify that this is a continuation of the first one but aren't going to be spending time connecting dots to it. It's just 4 years later, new story, same GR/Blaze with new revelations.

Only 4 months to go!!!

Calling all creative wizards and being a GR fan will help in this case.
They are conducting a contest for best made fan poster.
If you win it's possible, only possible but still, that your winning submission could be used when the official marketing campaign to kicks off.

With trailers hitting for summer films like MIB:3 and Joe2 I hope we get a new trailer for this film over the Holidays. Especially considering it's only 2 months out now.

I saw that this morning and it looks pretty cool. Should I Netflix the first one before I see this?

Necessary, no. It's a soft reboot but based on the earlier trailer it's going to have throw away lines acknowledging the first.

I tried to watch it and got an error that said "This video contains content from Sony Pictures and they have blocked it based on copyright grounds".

Damn!

Loved the vomitting of bullets back at the thug.

In answer to your earlier question JD, should I rent the first, no is still a good call but a few lines touch on it in this trailer.
Johnny: It doesn't matter how far you run, there are some demons you can't escape (that has to reference the first film)
The tagline: He fought the curse (which he did do in the first film)

Trailers may only showcase the better parts of films but based on the two we've gotten so far, this film looks to be vastly superior to the first in every way.

Ciaran Hands, known for Rome, gave some sound bites regarding his role in the film as The Devil.
"It's a genre I don't know," Hinds said. "That was something I didn't think I would ever be involved in. I do Shakespeare! I wear breeches and do Jane Austen! And then this is just mad, so different.

"I don't know how it'll turn out - probably just this mad kind of film that certain people of a certain age will get into."

"Playing the Devil in human form - I didn't know what level to play it at. They just said, 'Give us your stuff', but it's not fire and brimstone."

"I did get to meet Nic Cage, which was a thrill. A very nice, very professional man. Very good, very sharp," he commented. "We only had one scene, where he gave me a punch in the jaw and sent me miles away!"

Of course it'll be a mad film, the directors involved ensure that but a mad film sounds right for a character whose skull is on fire and tormented by the devil.

Looking forward to this next month!!

A new, and THIRD, poster has debuted today. This one has French lettering. It may be an international poster exclusive but hey, it's new.
