If you read the article it says Brunton has told this story privately for years to friends who acknowledge this hasn't come out of the blue. Also, someone, just because we haven't heard about this before doesn't mean there's no pattern. Not passing judgements either way, but if true someone has to be the first to stand up and say it happened.

It's true that it can take many years for a victim to fully process what happened, and feel comfortable bringing it to light. Unfortunately, in many instances criminal or even civil proceedings are no longer possible by that point. So then the "court of public opinion" is the only option available.

I have a question and that is this. Is the internet the best place for people to tell these kinds of stories? When opening up about stuff I always assumed that meant being able to tell your family and friends and also the authority about what has happened to you. Does it really matter what people on the internet think about these revelations? We don't know the victims or the people being accused so there is no way we can have a accurate way of making a informed opinion yet it's the internet so we all make one anyways.

I can see how it might be important in Hollywood and politics were popularity and public opinion actually matters but I still have my doubts this is going to fix any problems in other segment of society other than Hollywood and maybe politics though I am cynical enough to believe that sexual abuse like any other sin will almost always follow the "Jurrasic Park" themein that "Evil will always find a way."

I just wish people would follow my idea I have made several times over the years and that all human beings should be forced to undergo thearpy by law their entire life starting from a early age. It would be nice to be able to maybe get to potential criminals at a early age and help them before they act out and then with people going through thearpy already have a support system in place to help people who still become victims for those criminals who do fall through the cracks. If I didn't seek thearpy for my own issue's with mental illness I might be dead right now so I think it helps people no matter what kind of issue or tragedy they have to deal with or have had to deal with during their life.

When someone admits something, there is no presumption of innocense. And that was no set up or ambush. When someone asks you if you ever sexualy harrassed or assaulted someone, there is only ONE answer if you are innocent.

I'm split on the issue. On one hand people need to tell what has happened to them but I also don't like making the internet the judge and jury when it comes to judging people. I mean does anyone, really trust anything on the internet anymore in the age of Fake News? Going on the internet feels like going to the National Enquier back in the day to me. What do you do if your like me and you don't trust people all that much? I mean I trust individuals but I never trust groups or strangers, completely. Whenever I see someone getting really protective over a issue I got apart of me that wonders what kind of secrets they might have and they don't want people to know about and maybe they are over compensating.
