General Trek Questions and Observations

I wish ENT's 'Twilight' had been a Christmas Carol kind of story with Daniels trying to encourage Archer not to lose hope by showing him how the future could be. Archer's suggestion to T'Pol that she'd make a good nurse would've carried more weight.

I think Phlox has become my favourite Star Trek doctor. McCoy's still up there, but he is more of a foil for Spcok.

It's common knowledge Morn from DS9 is an homage to Norm from Cheers, but I like to think Morn is also an homage to Vera, Norms wife from Cheers. Morn talks a lot, but we never see it happen on screen. Vera is talked about a lot on Cheers, but she is never seen directly on screen, save for getting a pie in the face.

I always found it hilarious how in ST: Generations when Picard asks Guinan's "echo" in the Nexus to come and help him stop Soran on the mountain at Veridian III. Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt that Guinan could hold her own in a fight and honestly she would probably whoop Soran's ass in a fistfight. She has been around for so long that one would be hard-pressed to mess with her (even Q considers her a threat), but just the thought of her fighting with Picard on the mountain is bizarre and funny.

She can't have done any worse than Picard himself. Got his ass kicked by Soran twice. :D

If there are alternate timelines, how do we really know that Admiral Janeway in 'Endgame' didn't come from one? To the perspective of the Voyager crew still stuck in the Delta Quadrant, she does. At least a reality they haven't experienced.

I was thinking this because did she wipe out the reality she came from when she went back in time? How selfish. Then again, Harry did it in 'Timeless'.

But maybe TIME adjusts itself, and the Guardian of Forever/temporal agents/Travellers help. Maybe when a timeline is mucked with, the new one is branched off to protect the rest of the tampered with reality? Harry was able to send a message back to his younger self. Then again, he did it before he changed the timeline, so...

For the Hell of it, I looked to see which franchise has a higher episode-count: Star Trek or Law & Order?

According to Google:
Law & Order has 1,316 episodes.
Star Trek has 880 episodes.

Doctor Who has 871 episodes, according to Google. So it looks like Star Trek surpassed Doctor Who at the beginning of Picard Season 3.

The more interesting comparison is hours of content. Trek adds the films, but Classic Who episodes are longer, and you really should include Torchwood and Sarah Jane etc in the total. So the Who franchise is around 780, Trek is still in the high 600s

I can't believe I never noticed this until now. I've seen Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home countless times but today when watching it in 4K (watched it in 4K like seven times already) I noticed this! When Spock was answering questions from the computer on Vulcan at the beginning, one of the images the computer shows is a pre-refit Constitution class ship from TOS!
