In my re-watch, I'm finishing up Season 1. Now that I know Season 5 is coming out in April, I'm going to pace it out so that I go through a season per month. Taking into account some weeks where I don't get around to re-watching any Discovery, as a buffer, and I'll finish Season 4 right before Season 5 begins.

L’ak is a former courier turned outlaw, who is tough, impulsive and fiercely protective of his beloved partner, Moll. So long as he knows she’s safe, he doesn’t care about collateral damage or its consequences – a perspective that makes him very dangerous at times and will put him on the opposite side of Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery when they come into conflict.

I've decided I'm going watch a different movie with Michelle Yeoh in it between each season of Discovery. As I was looking through her filmography, I realized I've seen more things with her in it than I thought. The Memoirs of a Geisha, which I watched in the mid-'00s; and Sunshine, which was the first movie I ever watched on Blu-Ray, when I got a new Blu-Ray Player for my birthday in 2008.
I remember Sunshine being okay. I'm fuzzy on it now, but I remember the visuals being what really stood out (or maybe it was just HD in general that stood out to me at the time) while the story was just serviceable. The Memoirs of a Geisha, if I'm remembering right, had a bunch of twists, and a ton of sequences where -- especially towards the end -- whenever something happened, it turned out it to be a quick daydream before we'd see what really happens. They used to do that a lot back then.

I was pleasantly surprised when she showed up in the movie Boss Level
Not a movie, but check out Michelle in the 8 episode Disney show American Born Chinese. Great fun!
I started my rewatch too and halfway into S2 gotta say, it's fantastic, exciting. The story is intriguing, moving, evocative and beautiful to look at. Michael is a wonderful character played brilliantly. I'm glad I stayed away from the discussion about it when it first aired.

Just started S3 and I'm surprised by how less irritating I find Blu de Barrio's Adira Tal. I don't like to be able to "see" someone acting and remember thinking they just weren't skilled enough an actor to pull with the rest of the heavyweights in the show. It wasn't the character so much as the actor's obvious inexperience. But in re-watch I think they're doing fine.
So I have no idea what has changed in my perceptions. Maybe it was all aspect ratio

Honestly, I disliked them as a character so much more in Season 4. Largely because the writers seemed to forget they were joined to a Trill symbiont and just wrote them as a wide-eyed kid who didn't benefit at all from the centuries of experience they had onhand.

I quite liked Adira in s3…s4 not so much. They dropped the ball on that character big time and, I think, tried to make Adira a Tilly substitute, which just did not work. The performance really lacks Mary Wiseman’s charisma and charm. I didn’t even realise until her absence just how much Tilly is the heart of the show.
Just after the midpoint of S2 was the crest of my DISCO wave. Though I do think S4 ended really well. Best in the series.

Trekmovie's speculation about what each title means is embarrassing. "Red Directive must be a 32nd century version of a Red Notice. Mirrors likely involves the Mirror Universe and/or Georgiou's return to set up for the Section 31 movie."
Have to create content somehow, as thin as it is.
"Under the Twin Moons" - I love this title!
"Labyrinths" - David Bowie guest-stars through archival footage!
"Life, Itself" - A good title for a final episode.
I think "Mirrors" is NOT a Mirror Universe episode. Too obvious. I'm picturing something like the scene with Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon where he's evading his opponent by using the reflection of mirrors to his advantage. Or it's an introspective episode where characters are taking a long, hard look at themselves and reflecting. The latter sounds more likely since it's the midpoint of the season. But who knows?
