Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

Spore drive isn't that bad what about the USS Relativity, it's got temporal transporters so you wouldn't even need a red angel suit or time machine just use that if you have the right coordinates to go to any location in any time period and back, not only that you have working two way comms..

The Relativity was a 29th century ship. The Discovery is 23rd century. A spore drive that can instantly transport a vessel anywhere in the galaxy/universe in 2257 is a hell of a thing.

Of course it is. It was built in the 23rd century. It's a 23rd century ship.

But with all its upgrades it's just about a 32nd Century ship, but in my post I wondered if the Relativity was still around somewhere, or if the Federation copied the temporal transporters. I mean with those you wouldn't need the ship, or a time machine.

Yes I know. It's a 23rd century ship upgraded with new technology.

I don't know what we're arguing about? :shrug:

In that sense, we're all millions of years old. Most of our genes are millions of years old, only a minuscule fraction (One in ten thousand) is less than a thousand years old.

Yeah... we're not though are we? I'm 30 years old and you're whatever age you are. That's how age works. :lol:

If you buy a car the age is determined by the year it was manufactured, not how many millions of years old the minerals in the steel are.

To argue otherwise is needlessly obtuse.

If you change every part of the car except for the steering wheel it would be way beyond stupid to argue that its age is still the same, in fact, that kind of trick has been used to commit frauds.

You are being clownishly simplistic.

Here we go... :lol:

That's right - it's 'clownishly simplistic' to say that a car manufactured in 2015 is five years old and not a million years old due to the minerals in the metalwork.

It's clownishly simplistic for me to write '30' on forms because I was born in 1990 rather than millions of years old due to my genetics.

:lol::lol::lol:

God. I'm just going to find the line from when Discovery was upgraded and post it.

You're welcome, everyone.

By the way, I'm 41 and very much 41. I'm not millions of years old. Even though I feel like this board has been arguing about Trek for millions of years.
