I recently started listening to Nerdrotic's YouTube video and podcast. He's a San Francisco based podcaster who has a credible resume. He is also friends with Midnight Edge folks but independent in his productions. I have to say I agree with much of what he says and I disagree with much as well.
Upfront he is not a fan of Star Trek Discovery. He feels it is not "Star Trek." I do. I believe it is the best Trek in twenty years. He is floating the theory that CBS is unhappy with STD's performance, will make Burnham a captain by years end and then either split season 3 into 2 halves or have a two abbreviated seasons ultimately followed by cancellation. Again, I disagree. Discovery appears to be achieving CBS goals for it's All-Access streaming service. I doubt very much CBS is looking for it to perform on par with a broadcast series (such as Orville which he loves). CBS is in the establish and growth phase and are therefore weighted towards prestige.
Overall I enjoy his podcasts as they are pretty moderate and gets one thinking.
