yeah life with no remote control, internet, tv streaming service and only three TV stations and no colour tv was a lot of fun.....![]()
Thanks for not providing any evidenceIt doesn't sound like you either watched the first two eps of the series, or weren't paying attention when you did. Sounds like you missed a few crucial insights into Michael Burnham that you would have picked up there
Thanks for not providing any evidence
Sure ignorance is bliss no one knew they needed a mobile phone until they became cheap, but socially the good old days were not that goodNor was it as bad as some folks make it out to be. There's always give and take when technology grows.

oh you mean when Burnham joined the crew looking like a Vulcan wanna be cos Sarek hoped to stifle the humanity out of her but then expected Captain Georgiou to revive it? I'm surprised he did not bleach her skin and give her a green tint. What? I'm telling you where you will find the evidence.
I agree that is why I said no one knew they needed a mobile phone, remote control, etc until they came along mass produced and affordable, you not having one is an exception to the rule.I was born in 1971. I don't have any complaints about the technology I had access to growing up. It was quite an accomplishment to get stations from Dayton and Louisville to come in so I could get extra Trek reruns, or watch an NFL game that wasn't available in my area.
And I still don't have a mobile phone.

As a victim of the good old days I recognise the behaviour of people like McCoy and Sarek.
I do find it funny when people channel Dr. McCoy in the 2010's. Seems some people did find something of value during the good old days.
I did not say life is automatically better due to tech, but using a remote control is better than fiddling with buttons, and a having a mobile phone is better than using a stinky phone box.It is just a fallacy that life is automatically better because we have access to more technology. Technology is only a piece of any given individual puzzle.

The concept of 'the good old days' isn't so much about technology but a nostalgic idea that the past was better.

I guess you don't recognise sarcasm but you did ignore the context of the complete statementNot sure why you use a McCoyesque attitude to support your argument. Would seem... counterproductive, Doctor.

I agree your argument is weakI recognize when people deliberately weaken their arguments.
It had its advantages.yeah life with no remote control, internet, tv streaming service and only three TV stations and no colour tv was a lot of fun.....![]()
