Yup, it is. We dont get to decide canon.
Thank the Great Bird for that. Most fans would make terrible decisions as it applies to Star Trek.

Well, Discovery is so far in the future that it's unlikely to affect anything canon. As for LD, first it's just a cartoon, and second, it's much more cartoonish than say TAS and so I don't think we should count it as canon. For all intents and purposes, it's a parody or a pastiche, if you prefer.
The definition of Trek canon is -Everything I likeEverything DSC does is canon by definition.
Nah, that's not canon. The definition of Trek canon is -Everything I like![]()
Do not argue with me sunshine!Nah, that's not canon.
Was it just me, or did they show a dude wearing a TNG season 1 uniform in the preview for next week's episode?
So I just noticed, that Eli (the Medical hologram) was credited as 'Eli the EMH' in the end credits. Interesting, I just assumed he was just a standard one not an Emergency model.
Yes we were discussing it in the promo thread

There was a clip shown at the end of the after show that explains why.
I just looked at Ian Lake’s Twitter and was shocked how different he looks from his Orion character. (He was Osyraa’s nephew.)

Frankly, I think he would have looked a lot better had they just painted him green. His face has interesting, lived-in character. Based on what was on screen, I expected him to be about 23, but he’s really in his late 30s.
Seems like they built up his nose? I noticed that on Osyraa as well. Not sure why it's needed TBH.
Also, you can see in the photo with SMG the makeup around his mouth started cracking when he tried to smile. Which pretty much shows that the makeup does inhibit the full range of facial expression.
The dude playing Andorian Ryn is a big time trekkie:

Everything DSC does is canon by definition. So is Lower Decks. And TAS has been officially canon according to CBS for a long time, too. The only reason TAS was ever not officially canon was not because it's a cartoon but because there were legal issues related to what they could or couldn't reference without having to pay extra money to certain people.
TBH I don't really care what people think is or isn't canon and it's up to the individual.Too bad its canon, then.
Cool. We don't determine canon. Whether it fits in the same continuity is another question.TBH I don't really care what people think is or isn't canon and it's up to the individual.
In Star Wars I block out the cartoons but canonised the Jacen and Jaina stuff until the new movies gave me a new canon and people are free to believe whatever is alternative timeline or just a joke cartoon.
Although Jaina Solo will forever be canon in my dreams

Who decides canon? You can ignore whatever you want to but that doesn't determine what is or isn't canon. What you're talking about here is your interpretation of trek - some people call it head-canon but whatever you call it it's a completely separate concept from canon.
