Geez I just can't help it... Seven in the catsuit...

What, ya never heard of uniform fetishes?

Only on men, you know like a cop, soldier, construction worker....................wait, I think I just described the Village People. :o

Seriously, I've never heard that fetish described on women beyond Nurse or French Maid.

I don't get why a uniform that doesn't show off her figure is sexier than one that does or why conforming appeals to Trek fans here more than being unique?

"Hey honey, I think you look sexier with more clothes on." :wtf:

Personally, I think uniforms and regular clothes make her look more beautiful because there is a common frame of reference. We've seen other women in the uniforms and wearing dresses, and Jeri compares very favorably to them. She also seems more natural and approachable in outfits other than the catsuit. That's my two cents, anyway. The only time she looked ugly on the show was in the Borg makeup in her first two appearances.

You find a woman in a catsuit intimidating?

Is that what you mean?

Intimidated is the wrong word. I would be more uncomfortable talking to someone wearing a catsuit than everyday clothes, though.

I agree at first for me it would be too however, after a while for me at least it wouldn't be an issue.

Also too, we are talking about the 24th century and people who have a different style of thinking. Stuff that at one point would make us uncomfortable would seem common place to them. In their present(our future) a catsuit is seen as common attire, notice how nobody even wears jeans in Trek.

However, it's not like nobody noticed Seven was in a catsuit. Tom Paris mentioned that there wasn't a man on the ship that didn't desire her, it was only her stand-offish personality that kept them away.

I admit it... 50% of the reason I watch is just to see Ryan/Seven strutting those nice globes in her skin tight "catsuit".

How many will admit the same thing? I mean, come on... be honest.
Hell's yeah.

I'm not one of these: I think I'm high brow because I'm sexually repressed type of people. I notice beautiful women, the character and body of Seven of Nine was a damn fine.

From Barbarella to Slave Leia to Seven of Nine, the hot space babe has always been a staple of sci-fi. :bolian:

It was a good reason for me as well..... :bolian:

The catsuit never turned me on. It may be form fitting, but it covers everything up. It's sort of like looking at a Corvette with a car cover on.

But keeping her out of a Starfleet uniform differentiated her from the rest of the crew. It visually reminded us that she was different, an outsider. Putting her in a uniform would've just made her anothe one of the crew, the same mistake they made with the Maquis.

Now, putting her in something less blatantly sexual I don't have a problem with. But not a fleet uniform.

Seven in a real uniform would have given the show alot more credibility.
It would have made her just another member of the crew. I understand putting the Maquis in the same uniforms... to make them one crew. But 7 was no starfleet officer.

Neither were the crewmen on board. Thats what seven was, a crewman. You are part of the crew, you wear the uniform. Its not just officers that wear them.

Crewman is a Starfleet rank for enlisted personnel. Seven was like Neelix, Kes and Icheb in that she's aboard Voyager doing a job, but she hasn't joined Starfleet.

How did she breathe in that outfit?
Not very well.
