Gary Seven, the Aegis and the Red Angel

Is there any chance that the group behind Gary Seven from Assignment Earth will turn out to be the group behind the Red Angel? I also wonder if there’s a connection with Future Guy or Daniels from Enterprise.

Nah, let's just ignore the temporal Cold War.

The Aegis (as the lit calls them) is also a stretch. If that's how the Red Angels operated, with operatives with secret agent gadgets, why all the mystery, bells and whistles on Discovery?

To be honest, I hope that the Red Angels turn out to be an entirely new phenomenon. There's arguments that can be made that they're the Iconians, the Preservers, the Bajoran Prophets, or any number of established races, but I think I would rather that the Red Angels be something new and never quite defined.

All-new, hopefully, yes - because otherwise we'd have to explain how the future heroes Kirk, Picard and Sisko are ignorant of these Preservers or Prophets or consider the Iconians a myth...

Curious how so far two out of two Red Things have guided our heroes to help fellow humans. Just a coincidence? Or are the Red Things human-centric despite appearing all across the galaxy? Did we just barely miss the Green Things that protected Vulcanoids 3,000 years ago, and the Blue Things that helped out Bolians in distress 1,500 years ago? (And never mind the Ultraviolent Things that saved all Klingondom 500 years ago.)
