Games deserving of sequels

Alpha Centauri (1999, PC)

Agreed. Love that game. Wish Firaxis would do a sequel/remake instead of another Civilization expansion (as fun as Civilization can be).

They can't... as far as I know, the rights to the game reside with EA and Firaxis is owned by Take2. I actually never played the original (I only had eyes for Civ back then) but I've heard a lot about it and want to try it with a modern graphics engine ;)

I want a Warcraft 4! Blizzard should've done that instead of wasting their time on Diablo III and StarCraft II..

Hey, come on! You got three WC games. It's only fair we got our SC sequel after all these years.

I do agree about Diablo, though :D.

Shenmue
Panzer Dragoon (Saga II, please ;) )
Outrun (a proper sequel to Outrun 2)
Wonder Boy in Monster World

Freespace 3 - There is still a fair bit of story left in the series, would love to see another space sim but I think the universe could be very well represented by a strategy game (think mix between Sins of a Solar Empire and Conquest Frontier Wars) or even a FPS.

KOTOR 3 - MMOs are bullshit, I just want an RPG I can play through and enjoy the story without some 10 yo kid from the US running up behind me and thrusting a lightsaber through my head because he can donate 8 hours a day to level up his character.

Conquest: Frontier Wars 2
- Fantastic strategy game. Graphics weren't the best but it was fun playing, the characters were interesting and they added the right amount of mirth into the dialogue and pre-briefing stuff to also kept it interesting. An Expansion or sequel was in the works but the company went bust.

Monkey Island 5 - THe MI games were just fun, well written games. Personally I enjoyed the MI3 cartoon style over the MI4 3d look. But that won't matter much as long as it keeps in the spirit of the series.

Homeworld 3 - Great games the first two, fun and challenging, interesting story and just had a nice feel to it with the black and white cutscenes and the narrator's voice was great.

Jedi Knight 4: The New Jedi Order - Take it into the NJO era and let me take a lightsabre to those Vongs...and also maybe to a few more Imperials. I love the smell of cooking Stormtrooper in the morning!

Imperium Galactica III - Really enjoyed the first two. You get to have your space combat and your ground combat.

Birth of the Federation II - Really enjoyed it back in the day, a nice new version with pretty graphics and nice gameplay would be fun.

A proper sequel to Star Control II would be nice.

I actually liked Star Control 3 more than some, but there's no denying it's a touch on the derivative side.

The game is awesome, you can use "nukes" and in Civ 2 nothing really would happen besides lines of desert. In AC if you use them the whole planet will become water and native life will attack you. It's really neat.

Agreed. I have no problem with an Old Republic based MMO, but they should at least have finished the trilogy as is. That almost seems like common sense.

Would love to see sequels to:
-X-Wing Alliance
-Freespace 2
-KOTOR 2 (forget the online thing)
-Deus Ex (they are doing a prequel this year, and not many people liked the sequel that came out 5 years ago or whenever)
-Birth of the Federation (great game killed by bugs)
-Elite Force 2 (second one was good, but this series could go on for awhile thanks to the massive ST universe)

Alpha Centauri (1999, PC)

They made an expansion pack that was a pseudo sequel, but it would be nice to have a remake with modern graphics and a halfway decent AI (along with changes so it isn't the same game, obviously). There would have to be some pretty good generosity between Take2 and EA for that to happen, though.

Considering how Nintendo loves to franchise their best-known characters to death, I'm surprised they never made a Kid Icarus 2.

Especially after Super Smash Bros Brawl. It would have to be a DS game, imo.

The original game was ridiculous hard and was overshadowed by Metroid, so I can understand why there wasn't a clamoring for a sequel.
