[GAME] Special Enterprise Moments | Episode-by-Episode

The Catwalk: At the end, when they're all watching the Western. T'Pol explains the plot to them. Her tone and expression are hilarious. "Isn't it obvious?"

Next: Dawn (heh, good luck with that one)

You'd think this would be tougher given the episode, but it's easy.

"Mary had a little lamb, with fleece as white as snow, and everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go..."

Next: Stigma

Stigma follows on from the Season 1 episode Fusion, where T'Pol was assaulted by one of those Vulcans who embraced emotion. Her story arc goes from bad to worse, as it is revealed she contracted a disease, Pa'nar Syndrome, the sufferers of which are discriminated against in her society. It's a non-too subtle HIV alegory but has its moments, could've been stronger without the comedy B-story involving one of Phlox's wives. Feezal comes onboard and basically starts hitting on Tucker, within earshot of her husband. He's fine with it, Denobulan culture being very different.

Cease Fire is much, much better and its a gift to whoever is next.

Breaking the rules here slightly, but I was just reminded about that last episode and something that really deserved a mention... more than the fictional Trek stuff onscreen.

In the wake of the destruction of the US Space Shuttle Columbia on 1 February 2003, an opening caption slide was added to the first broadcast of Stigma, 5 February 2003.

"In memory of the Columbia crew... You will always be an inspiration."

Now that was a special moment.

Cease Fire: When Soval "compliments" Archer, saying he had "not been overly meddlesome."

And now, "Future Tense"

Trip and Malcolm's time loop was a very interesting highlight of the episode. It also became a good wrench in Archers plan to blow up the ship, as they had to "fight" the loop to get things accomplished.

Next "Canamar"

Canamar: A picture is worth a thousand words

eta: next up: The Crossing

Rather coincidentially, I just rewatched The Crossing yeaterday (I'm working my way through all of Trek chronologically, beginning with Broken Bow and ending with Living Witness, one episode a day so I should have about two years to go). I didn't like it very much, but it was good to see the catwalk again.

Next up: Judgement

I thought Archer's last moment with his advocate was a really nice touch (as was casting JG Hertzler).

next up: Horizon

Horizon. Hands down, this:

(Travis sitting upside down in the "sweet spot," crying. Enter Archer, looking up.)

ARCHER: Mind if I join you?
TRAVIS: Of course not.
(Archer drifts to sit upside down on the ceiling, next to Travis.)
ARCHER: I haven't been up here since we launched. Come here a lot?
TRAVIS: Every now and then.
ARCHER: Commander Tucker told me what happened. I'm sorry.
TRAVIS: My mother sent a message to Starfleet six weeks ago, but I never got it.
ARCHER: The civilian channels can be pretty slow.
TRAVIS: I should have called him. We were in comm. range a few months ago. I guess I wasn't ready to talk to him yet. He wasn't very happy with me when I joined Starfleet. He'd been grooming me for his job since I was kid.
ARCHER: I'm sure it wasn't easy for him when you left, but I know for a fact that he was proud of you.
TRAVIS: With all respect, sir, I'm not so sure he was.
ARCHER: Did he ever tell you about the letter he sent me? It was almost two and a half years ago. There were a few candidates I was looking at for helm officer. I was having a little trouble deciding, so I contacted their former COs hoping for a more personal evaluation.
TRAVIS: What did he say?
ARCHER: He wrote the shortest recommendation. Just one sentence. He said he'd never met a more natural stick and rudder man in his life and I'd be a fool if I didn't choose you. When I saw how you handled yourself at the helm, I knew he was right.
TRAVIS: I wish he would have told me that.

Next: The Breach

The Breach: Phlox telling his Antaran patient about how he was raised to despise the Antarans and how he chose to raise his own children without bigotry (and sadly failed with his oldest son).

Next up: One of my favorite episodes -- Cogenitor

Cogenitor:

Malcolm and that big-assed alien hottie eating cheese for foreplay... I loved that scene!

Up Next > it's the Borg! Yeah folks, its Regeneration time! :D

That was a fine episode. I like the beginning best when they find the Sphere. I've always wondered what happened to the debris after First Contact. A nice sense of doom.
I also liked the scene between Archer and T'Pol when he says that Cochrane mentioned Cyborgs and T'Pol says that Cochrane was known to be frequently intoxicated. :D

Next up: another good one, First Flight.

It's been quite a while since I watched it (My rewatch of the series is still earlier in the season), but I remember really liking the scene were Archer and Trip met.

Next: Bounty

^ Bounty: the closing credits?

Seriously, I thought the scene at the end where T'Pol asks Phlox how she was "cured" of the pon farr and he's somewhat circumspect...

I get to do The Expanse! My favourite part of it is the trailer. The most shocking trailer in all of Trek, apart from In a Mirror, Darkly part 1. Also the second-best trailer in all of Trek.

Next: The Xindi.

I'll do The Xindi...
I thought it was hilarious when Trip misunderstood T'Pol's instruction to "disrobe," and thought she was looking for sex. It was the only thing that saved the scene, IMO.

Next up: Anomaly.

Anomaly: Love where Archer starts threatening the thief. I've always hated people like that and it's rather satisfying seeing characters based on that type of criminal not be punished simply but with fear.

Next: Extinction (good luck)

"Extinction":

Trip coaxing T'Pol into tasting a peach.

T'Pol's white catsuit.

I really did like the moment where our transformed crew members come upon the ruins of the alien civilization, and realize all has been lost. Very poignant.

And Trip charging pell-mell through the corridors to T'Pol's quarters to retrieve that peach, and her DNA.

Next is "Rajiin."
