Spoilers Game of Thrones: The Final Season

Yeah, their headlines for reviews tend to be more revealing/leading than they should be. I just don't visit until whatever I've watched whatever I know they are going to review.

So I wasn't quite right. Gendry doesn't have a promo photo on the Iron Throne. But there are 20 such photos out there. Guess he's just not important enough, like Gilly and some of the other tertiary characters.

Putting them in spoiler code so they don't blow out people's browsers right away:
01-Dany.jpg 02-Jon.jpg 03-Bran.jpg 04-Jorah.jpg 05-Sansa.jpg 06-Cersei.jpg 07-Jaime.jpg 08-Tyrian.jpg 09-Arya.jpg 10-Brienne.jpg

Gendry can't be the king.

It's a Song of Ice and Fire, not a Song of Blacksmithing and Rowing. :p

He is a Baratheon, but bastard-born. There are many others around that could lay claim. Then again, if they all die, he does officially possess royal blood and could claim it by default through attrition. Or maybe the Seven Kingdoms might start to experiment with other governing systems.

Huh, I also thought I saw a Gendry on the Iron Throne poster.

Who the fuck would want to sit on the Iron Throne? It sounds like a terrible job and everyone gets killed. Better to be a blacksmith. He'll live longer.

I think the only way to win is to not play at all.

It would be surprising to see the political structure survive the series finale. I could see somebody sitting on the Iron Throne after the castle has crumbled around it looking out over a completely destroyed King's Landing.

I suspect there won't be a throne to sit on. I think one of the heroes will ultimately destroy it. And there will be a new political structure, not the endless cycle.

I've been expecting that for a long time now, given Martin is all about trope-smashing and has said the series would end in dust.

But now that we've all been expecting that, it probably won't happen.

Not original. That ending was done in the 60's with everyone in the world dying at the end of the Elric books.

Martin is more about smashing tropes made popular by Tolkien and a legion of wannabe's.

I would love to watch Arya as stylized as Daria.

Game of Thrones: Special Victims Unit would be a lot of fun, too. Kudos to Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T for doing that cameo.
