Spoilers Game Of Thrones’ Spinoff ‘House Of The Dragons’ ordered to series

Finished the second season, and while I've felt the lighting was much improved this time around, I feel there were huge issues with the pacing. With only 8 episodes, it felt like it had barely gotten started by the time it ended. I could understand the pacing if this were the main GoT series with more episodes and longer seasons overall, but it really feels glacial at times, and at other times it feels like it's double-timing and skipping over stuff. And it doesn't help that I didn't have access to the 4th episode which was somehow missing from the list of episodes.

It seemed pretty obvious to me that the writers' strike had somewhat undermined Season 2. It felt partially finished.

I felt the same way. The interview made sense - because of the strike, they couldn't get to the big green/black battle in time and held it over to S3. Sad we have to wait, but at least we know it's coming.

Ahh, I hadn't taken the strike into account. Hopefully they bounce back from that and are able to give us what they weren't able in Season 3.

I think the first time I ever saw him in anything was Braveheart (1995). He was the guy whose new bride was taken by the local English Lord for "Prima Noctae", causing him to join Wallace's army. It was a relatively minor role in the greater scheme of the plot, but his portrayal of the horrid situation in which he and his wife were placed was exceptionally strong.

He really came into his own in "Sons of Anarchy", and his seamless weaving in and out of subplots in "Smoking Aces" really puts him on an "A-list" of underused actors, IMO.

AH, good. Thought I was having a stroke or something...

And you were right about the coloring - that, plus Patrick Stewart didn't look as good in TOS Command Gold, either, and that red worked better for him. :)

Looks way better than HoD

The trailers for HoD looked good too but the show lost me in its first season because it dragged so on and by the end of season 2 still no large scale Dragon on Dragon action ( basically i watched the few actual battles on Youtube and that was enough).

This trailer picked my interest, it looked awesome and i hope it stays away from these grand political intrigues and just delivers a good story about a group of people trying to make it ( haven't read the stories and don't plan to spoil myself). I will definitely tune in to watch this.

So this is 100 years before GoT, is it also before HotD as well?

Looks like it could be a good companion pieces to HotD, dealing with a more personal story and leaving the political intrigue to another show.
