Well, now it is at 29 on Metacritic, but that is only out of five reviews so far. It's possible the critics could be annoyed that the film wasn't screened for them. Then again, it's possible the film wasn't screened for them beacause it is as terrible as they say. Rotten Tomatoes is a bit more charitable with their metric, giving the film a 41.

It's just escapist fun. It's dumb and loud and cheesy and over-the-top. But sometimes, that's not a bad thing. It's kind of like a Roger Moore-era Bond movie, but more hip and stylish.

No. The studio just selected critics predisposed to liking it so that the early reviews would be artificially inflated. Once all the critics had their say, the numbers plummeted.
