G.I.Joe review that says its good.

I guess I am just getting numb to it which never happened with Transformers. Still not happy about Ripcord being black. Still don't like Cobra Commander's helmet. Still don't like Destro as he is. Don't like Duke and Baroness being ex's. Don't like the Batsuits. Don't like super secret tattoo on sleeve. Don't like so much more.
But if there is one movie that should be easy to make it is GI Joe. Everything I don't like can be fixed in the sequel.

probably for the same reason people whine about Fury being black, Starbuck a woman and Wolverine being tall. cuz they're sad little fan boys who can't accept that stuff gets changed.

likewise, several of the figures, most notably the famous v2 one, have a visible mouth on his mask. so all the bitching about that doesn't make sense either.

At the time I am posting this, it's at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, although that is for only seven reviews. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting that.

It is crap like this that feeds the people like darkwing_duck. There was absolutely no need to change Ripcord but someone did it anyway. GI Joe was always a diverse group so it did not need to be fixed.

I still have red flags popping up everywhere because they are releasing this film with the dreaded "This film was not screened for critics" (print media) until after the opening. That scares me a bit although I am drawn to this movie like a spider to a fly.
85% now but still.... what the hell?
I honestly didn't expect it to break 40. Pleasant surprise this is.Note that they haven't actually had a general screening for critics. They've screened it for select critics, from such genre publications as Dark Horizons, IGN, Sci Fi Wire, etc. That's where most of the positive reviews are coming from. It's possible that the "mainstream" critics will have a different take.
