Future of Paramount+ among merger talks

 I saw a few articles floating around but they seem to link back to Tachyon Pulse podcast who stated that some people at Skydance wanted that out there about ending Star Trek for awhile and doubling down on more conservative leaning media.

After all the money they're spending on SFA and SNW?

I find that difficult to believe. It's like asking Disney to drop Marvel.

Thanks!

Edit: Oh, Tachyon Pulse is that one guy? I can’t recall his other channel, but one glance at him, and I realized it’s the dude who is seemingly incapable of getting stuff right. <_<

He's part of SciTrek (the same people who said Sony was going to buy Paramount and that Firefly was going to be rebooted  ).

And that Stargate was back. And then it wasn’t. And then it was, but with a caveat. And then it wasn’t, but with a glimmer of hope. And then it wasn’t, and that was for the best. And then it was, thank goodness. And then idk.

I don’t really believe it either, in terms of it actually happening. At some point, Skydance will want to monetize the IP. Will it be with Secret Hideout or will they do their own thing? Who knows.

However, do I think Paramount or Skydance would “leak” an intention to go in a different way with their programming to get their merger approved? Absolutely.

Is it ridiculous these organizations have to deal with culture war B.S. on an issue of antitrust, which should be largely devoid of such matters? Absolutely.
