Future of Paramount+ among merger talks

"What others in power say doesn't fit my personal narrative, so I will continue to say what I want, this is the internet."
And now that you have nothing substantive to contribute to this discussion other than personal insults, it seems there is nothing more to discuss on this subject, at least between us. Have a nice day.

By all means, share your information with us too.
Have to protect my sources.
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but - should Paramount fold, does anyone think the Trek IP would be allowed to lie fallow ?

Someone (or several someones) gonna pick up the properties and start producing shows again.
Whomever ends up with the IP would likely produce their own content to make money.

I don’t believe CBS/Paramount ever green lighted this idea even before ‘collapsing.’ As far as I know they never seriously considered Matalas’s suggestion. As a matter of fact, the ONLY thing we’ve heard that’s remotely close to this is Patrick Stewart making some nebulous comment that somebody gave him a script for a new movie about Picard. Which also doesn’t seem to be a thing.

It becomes even less of a thing when you consider the number of scripts Sir Patrick receives in which people want for him to be part of their maybe-maybe-not future project. Happens all the time. It's a LONG way from "give an actor a script" to "this show/movie gets actually made".

Skydance is still a possibility.
And to add more fuel:

And to add more fuel:

If Skydance Media acquires Paramount Global, it will drive the Anti-West / Anti-Colonialism / Pro palestinian Terrorist faction of the Star Trek fandom crazy.

After watching Prodigy Season 2 and remembering what Paramount did to it, I hope the entire Trek IP gets moved to another streamer like Netflix or Apple TV. Paramount really doesn't deserve Star Trek.

I can't give you a number, but they are out there.

There are Star Trek podcasts that start with a "land acknowledgement".

And then there is this:

This is a completely unnecessary diversion into a hot-button topic that belong in Misc or TNZ. Drop it.

At the very least, I hope that Netflix see the potential in further Prodigy.

I've already imagined that Nickelodean logo above the title sequence being replaced by the Netflix one.
