Future Knowledge of Romulas

So at the least both Spocks and Kirk know about the future destruction of Romulas.

So presumably it's destruction will be avoided next time round or an evacuation would be possible.

If so then then Spock Prime will actually succeed in saving Romulas.

The problem here would be is would the Romulans believe that the star is going to explode? Or that any Federation assistance is pure in intention? Would they allow the Federation to attempt to retry creating red matter and go into their territory to eliminate the star?

Or would they block any attempts, and instead demand that they be given the technology so they can do it themselves (which the Federation wouldn't do), etc. etc.

I haven't read the comics, but apparently the Romulan government didn't even believe in a threat from the supernova back in the 24th century, which was the reason they didn't evacuate the planet.

I think Spock prime will be dead by the time it rolls around again.

Yes, but if Romulas is destroyed his mission will still have succeeded.

The Klingons also have future knowledge going by the deleted scenes and they would presumably love to see Romulas destroyed.

Something familiar about that.. hmm.

Maybe a benevolent Romulan scientist should send his infant son to earth in a small capsule, and when he gets there he'll develop incredible powers. But he'll need to watch out for 'Romulite', it will be his achilles heel.

He was obviously referring to Superman, not that he vaguely remembered the theory of Romulan ignornance being discussed before.

I didn't quote the Superman part, because I wasn't referring to it. He was already right before he got to the joke part. I thought so when the first poster mentioned it.

Recently here, but it certainly wasn't the first discussion since "Countdown" came out months ago.

Thanks for the link, I guess this thread can be put to sleep if some kind mod would like to close it.
